I want to know why the new z1 pro with same soc as my umi plus e has android 7 we need the tree strings to build custom ROMs

The guy who works for umi he's always commenting on here I need  answers asap

Guys just stop with this.
We'll NEVER get android 7 on this phone. Just stop and get over it.
With 1 phone per month, the new UMI OS, they just don't have time/money to overcome MTK issues and provide Android 7 on this phone.
I just wish they would just update the security patches, the phone still works good even without Android 7.

The UMI Plus E will not have Android 7 because the Motherboard is not compatible. Forget the upgrade and accept that they cheated and you were taken in the conversation of the markting as much including me.

Umidigi shop on Aliexpress   ( official ) refuses to accept the return of the phone and I have alleged that they have made a misleading advertisement in the pre-sale. They claimed that they only accept in the first month, this is a case of mockery, misleading advertising, which is punished by law in any civilized country.

unidigi, they aren't capable to provide what they have advertised
mediatek , don't give to the developer the source code , they have a lot of "copyrighted" code

I Agree 100% with you, but as a matter of fact, mrwine is right. We will never get 7.0 nor any upgrade, from umidigi at least.
This is just driving me crazy, but apart from letting all other people know be it here, on facebook or twitter or any place of your choice, what can be done ? They are chinese. They know patience. They know we/you will stop someday. And they know people will keep on buying their stuff.
Use your enrgy and anger to post messages anywhere, on fb, on official retailers site, anything. this is it...

WoW! Only discovered this now. I already say that there will never be updates neither Android 7since March. This one was a model to deceive the "ducks", it was never intention of them to update because they are incompetent. Before they even put on the market for sale they made a brilliant markting campaign because they already knew that they could not upgrade they wanted to recover the money already invested in stock.
I support your idea all deceived in this model or not, alert in all social networks that this mark is made by incompetent and liar people. But do not stop repeating the alert until these guys wake up.
On the website on the launch page of the new models warn of this problem.
They do not deserve consideration.

Das Umi Plus E ist das erste und auch direkt das letzt Smartfone von umiDIGI. Ich kaufe in Zukunft wieder nur von Elephone. Die liefern spät, aber die liefern.

Makes sence well I've found android 7 for the mtk 6757 and I'm going to try and build lineage os from the elephone p8 has same soc and duel channel ram

Padenr that's the plan I've been researching for the last week I'm ready to start building I'm going to build its first custom ROM hopefully

Ive searched a lot for someone building custom rom for Plus E, nothing on XDA even. Its just not a well supported phone. Makes me wish I knew more aboutthis stuff so I could help. I am excited to see what progress you make. You may could get some support on XDA.

Umi update: super, max, plus, Z, Z pro to latest Android version.
If engineers find solution to develop Android 7 to umi plus E you will be definitely informed and your device will be updated.

Engineers are busy with new products that come out on average one a month. So far not even security updates have been released...

I wondered if anybody else would notice. They released some bug fixes and I think stability fixes for the Plus E fairly recently, but didn't even patch Android bugs. Still on 2016 patch status here.

I am just sad at the moment that Android 7 will probably never be on this device unless I flash it (which I don't want to do it)

But I can live with Android 6 for now... because all of my favorite games are able to run on this device and android version.

I have to admit yeah, the secuirity patches is one big problem.

For the rest I really like this device so far! (I recieved it yesterday) but I have one problem, do you know how to remove that trash can icon? it's kinda big. and obstructing my view
