Edited by tech_noir at 2017-6-18 11:53 \n\nMy Umi Z works as normal, but gradually the power button became hard to respond. I use an original protective case (the expensive textile/magnet/circle) one and a screen protector. Today I released it from the case to see what's the problem and noticed this . Did the metal part sudenly became smaller? No drop offs or exposing to temperature extremes.

Hopefully the (autorised) seller responded fery fast, suggesting to send it back for repair. However this would take time and it is my only phone.  I wander if it would work to just put it in the fridge to make the plastic contract...
It is my second UMI, bought after the screen of the first one got a crack and the touch stopped working. I blamed myself, but this time it obviously is not my fault.

I am afraid this is caused by swollen battery. Check the forums it has been discussed here many times over. The solution is to contact the seller and they should send you a new battery. You must change the battery yourself. The expenses for the new battery should be covered by Umidigi. At least in theory. I recommend stop using the phone for safety reasons as swollen battery poses a certain risk,  especially when repeatedly recharged.

Sorry but I can't see your pictures.
Don't expect that the seller contact to you! You need contact to shop where you bought phone with full explanation.

Edited by tech_noir at 2017-6-18 13:03 \n\nSorry for the pictures, editted. I've got some problem winth an explanation in chinese while trying to attach.

Well, as I wrote, I have contacted the shop/seller and the reaction is wanderful. I am writting in manifacturer/brand's forums because:
1. It is the manifacturer and should know the hardware best.
2. There are people with the same model and someone might ave experienced and hopefully solved a similar issue. Returning it for a repair or change while in warranty (as the shop suggested) might be great, but this would cost money and time. And menawhile I'd have to buy another phone to have during the repair and sending from Europe to Asia and back...
I'd be happy íf for instance is possible to glue/stick it myself, even if losing the warranty.
3. I'm tying to inform Umidigi. As I work for a technological company myself and we value learning about (no to metion fixing ASAP) ussues which can be avoided in next models. In this case obviously by using a plastic which does not expand (or do it as the metal) in summer. It this happens when the temperature around gets to 30 C, it can get worse when forgot in a car, on the beach or just a sunny window. Or skiing in winter, but in the opposite directon... OK, realize I might have a deffective unit and only I have such an issue. At least I hope so.
As a software developer myself I think it well might be a testable and fixable software bug. After updating tou Nougat the battery life dropped significantly. Might be some open cycle or somerhing that drains battery and overheats it (somehning I've faild to notice due the awesome protective cover).

Edited by tech_noir at 2017-6-20 13:07 \n\nI see...
Funny thing is that since the Samsung incidents it is near impossible now to receive a battery trough air mail (no problem with a phone WITH battery). Looks like I'd have to send it for a repair and buy myself a new phone locally meanwhile...
Thanks!

No problem, it sucks when something like that happens to you. Anyway there are some issues with battery drain here and there, especially now on Nougat I was not able to tell whether it´s caused by a system or 3rd party app. Anyway turning on DuraSpeed and whitelisting vital 3rd party apps resolved it and now I can go 3 days without a charge with a light to moderate use.

Looking for the box to send it for a repair, I've just discovered in the wardrobe my old SUPER, forgotten there due to the cracked and unusable screen for half a year.
Exactly the same problem (which it has not when I left it there)
