Got my phone at the end of March and for the past 2 weeks I've been noticing a crazy battery drain. My phone was 100% charged this morning and with very minimal usage today it is already on 20%.
I browsed a few news apps and have texted a few friends today and watched a couple of youtube videos and that's it. Any fixes for this? I have to charge my phone about 4 times a day even when I'm hardly using it.
It also gets quite hot, especially during usage, but also just when sitting there.

Any thoughts on this? This is very poor battery performance!

Edited by chooks06 at 2017-6-1 22:02 \n\nNot sure if this helps, but have you checked the battery info to see which app was draining your battery?

Another cause could be recently installed apps causing the problem OR it could be the phone not going to sleep OR something preventing the phone from hibernating (which happens at times on my phone).

The standard answer would be to flash the firmware using the SPFT (in which case, DO NOT use the one for the 4.4 battery if your battery is the original fitted one) or to do factory reset (in which case, you lose data so back them up first). Despite being on the latest FW, if they were updated OTA, somehow, the flashing seems to clear a fair bit of issues as it will be a clean install.(back up data first).

I would try a clear cache first - Settings - USB & storage. Tap on cache - it will clear the cache. Take note though - whenever I clear cache, most of my app settings were reset as well though this should not be the case.

Then again, there's the old thingy about RAM leakage in 6.0. But unlikely in your case since you've been using the phone for a while now.

Edited by biertje at 2017-6-2 17:03 \n\n Edited by biertje at 2017-6-2 17:02 \n\nThanks. I have tried the cache clearing, but no luck. I have had my phone on for just over 2 hours today from full charge and it is already on 45%. I checked battery usage through android and last night it was saying 50% wifi, but I have my wifi switched off all day so it can't be that. I disabled the scanning even when wifi is off too. Today it says 23% screen, but no apps as draining the battery.
Accubattery is saying chrome and maps which is fair enough as I used them both for a bit today, but only light usage.
I will backup data and try the factory reset tonight.
Seems a bit extreme though. Not impressed after only a few months. Edit to add: accubattery says 25% in deep sleep when screen off.

If you're prepared for a factory reset, I think might as well use the SP Flash Tool to flash the latest ROM (BUT NOT THE ONE FOR THE 4.4V BATTERY).

Personally, I think that puts the FW on a clean slate. Not sure whether you agree.

Also, I guess the stock battery stats are pretty inaccurate. I use AccuBattery too and their readouts do differ from the stock stats.

Hope all works out fine for you.

Best of luck mate!

I had the same issue when I disabled ImageEdit application. Check if it is enabled in settings.

I can't connect my phone to my laptop so this might be an issue. It keeps connecting and then disconnecting immediately. Happens with my tablet and other phones too so I'm guessing it's an issue with my laptop.
I'm going to try the factory reset and see if it helps with my battery issues. I will report back.

I tried a factory reset. It seemed to work for a while, but now it's back to the same issue. I charged up to 80% an4d within 4.5hrs after moderate usage the phone was dead.
What is the fix for this?
Additionally why can't I make new threads on the forum anymore?

Perform factory reset and test. Maybe you installing apps with very high power/battery consumption.
Also you could have battery issue.

I had the same issue, but after disable the option "Enhanced 4G LTE mode" in Mobile Networks configuration, the problem was solved.

Mine has an insane drain. I have reset it twice. Currently I have it plugged in and it is discharging. It was on 20% 25mins ago now it is 1% even though its charging.
