Hi Umidigi!
I'm thrilled to have my new device. But I have discovered a bug when I format my SanDisk 128GB microSD card. Hope this will get fixed in the next ota!

When I formatted with pc, it says the microSD is corrupted when put in the phone. So I formatted on the phone, to be able to use it. Now that you mentioned pc, I tried to read the card again on pc, but the pc is now asking for it to be reformatted. So maybe umidigi can fix this too. I can only use my card on one device

Thanks dunn0w, but that did nothing as my card is not actually corrupted. It just reads as corrupted when I tried using it on my phone after formatting on pc. In actuality, it's 100% usable after I formatted on my phone. I even could install apps on it. The only problem now is I can't use it on my pc anymore.

Hi,
If you bought it online, could you please share the link of the micro SD card you've purchased?
Attach it to a USB card reader, and try to use MiniTool Partition Wizard to create a working partition on your memory card.

I suppose you are aware that if the card was formatted for adaptive storage, it is in ext4 while for use as external memory it is (usually already pre formatted) in exFAT format. Hence the "corrupted" warning because Windows can't read ext formats, and I think neither can it format it to ext4.

Also, the same card cannot be read by another phone because it becomes sort of "dedicated" to the device it was configured originally. If the card is removed, some apps may not run properly. The card would need to be re-formatted as external storage before it can be re-used (data stored here would also be lost).

But what was shown on your screen shot is indeed weird.

Still waiting for my Z Pro to arrive to try out the adaptive storage as my other phones had it blocked when upgrading to M.

No problem bro. Happy to share.
Glad that the problem is fixed.
When Asus upgraded their ZenFone 2 to M, the external memory card showed a string of characters for the name. Changing language to Australian side stepped the problem. Eventually fixed. It was due to poor coding when they updated the FW.

Edited by chooks06 at 2017-3-31 14:34 \n\nUPDATE....edited at 1430 GMT+8

Received my Z Pro late yesterday.

My conclusion -
All SD cards inserted need to be re-formatted. The Z Pro formats in vFAT if for use as external memory. while the cards are exFAT by default. It will flag "corrupted" if exFAT is detected.
After formatting by Z Pro, the cards can still be read on PC but on any other devices will need to be re-formatted to exFAT again, losing data as it will detected as "corrupted".
