Hi, today my umi plus e battery showed an odd behaviour as it was in its 40% of charge when it pass to 14, 10 in a matter of seconds, then it stabilized a little but after a minutes it turned off , no more than 40 minutes from 40% to 0% . any solution?

Dear Users,

Until now 14 users (plus malanore's brother) reported a quick battery percentage drop at 40% or below in this thread. We still cannot reproduce this issue on any of our test devices, so we ask you to help our work with recording log files as the video below demonstrates it.

1. Please start to log your phone starting at 40% of battery power and stop it before your phone turns off. Don't connect your phone to charger or computer USB port while the logging is running.
2. Archive the mtklog folder into either a zip or rar file, upload it to a web storage and send its link to ben@91umi.com. Please don't share your file publicly since it may contain personal data.

Using the provided log data, we will investigate this issue and offer a solution as soon as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation.

To the UMI Administrator "bencebacsi":

Please note that all the guys complaining here, they are not trying to offend your company or insult it. We all have an issue and we are looking for a solution.

1. Regarding the statistics. So far, at least 16 people (according to my counting) complained here in this particular thread about this same issue. So as a a company, you should take the issue more seriously and investigate the problem yourselves. My brother and I bought two copies of the phone and have the same issue. This can't be pure luck. And probably you, as a company, do not care much because you do not receive much complains, but as a user, I (and everyone does) think that I am the most important person in the world to myself, so having this issue is pretty serious. I won't just sit there and say "Oh, this is not a big problem because it is not happening to everyone" because I care more about myself than about these so-called "others.

2. This leads to my next point. Here is a small hint: 96% of the people who have an issue with a given product won't complain [source 1], not to mention going to your forum and making an account to tell you about it. So if the people who complained so far in this topic is not enough for you to start taking the matter more seriously, then when would that ever be? I am checking on other websites [for example youtube comment section for some of your videos] where people usually have accounts, and you will see some people complaining about this issue. So to conclude. This is not a tiny little problem that happens very rarely. This is AN ISSUE.

3. You promised in one of your campaigns (that made me buy this phone) to release the Android 7 for this particular phone, and if you are still faithful to your promise, I think it's a good idea to figure out the solution of this problem and releasing it with the update.

4. I personally would prefer to have an indicator that tells me that I have 20% left while in reality I have 40% left, rather than an indicator that tells me I have 40% left when I have only 1% and my phone dies 1 minute later.
I think an OTA is needed soon. You can even re-calibrate the battery calculator so that it considers 30% as the absolute 0 (or say 1%). That way if a user has 1% left and his phone is still running he won't complain much and a user who have 20% (previously 50%) knows that he should recharge his battery soon.

Please do not count on users to investigate these problems. Do your own "honest" experiments and figure out a way to fix the problem on your own test units. I think you are not supposed to ask a user to root his phone and change something that could damage his phone. (again I am not offending or attacking you.. I am only a user who wants a solution).

Thank you for your understanding!

I sent the files to the mentioned email. it contains a link to this thread and an attached file, so  ...

I would never recommend you to share your log files .. especially if you are using banking apps, please make sure you delete the logs that are really private.

Hi Admin,

Let me make these points very clear

1. We are not testers for your product, you cant ask us to do this and that when we have our own busy schedule.
2. we are consumers and when so many people are complaining and you still asking us to do logs and stuffs is just not right.

we are not asking you to release A7 or give us new features, we are just asking you to fix bugs that are already existing and make it better for us consumers.

Hello, I have the same problem with the battery, it collapses when I get to 30% I had hopes with the 7.0 update but it seems to be true that there is no update, it is unfortunate because it is totally true that it was announced in its promotion, it was one of the reasons By which I decided to buy it, if true this would be a fraud!

Comrades from the forum 4pda found out the reason! The reason for the error energoprofil! Go to this link, it describes the essence of the problem and is a patch for rooted devices to solve the problem (http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?s ... t=460#entry57884961). If in short: energoprofil battery capacity is set not 4000 mAh, set it to 1000 mAh. Because of this error in the readings of the battery. Incorrectly displays the percentage. In the link I gave are all described in detail. You only need to translate. Google to help. I hope UMI will solve this problem.

Is there any update on this issue, battery on my UMI plus sometimes goes from 50% to 1% in a minute. I was planning to buy UMI S2, but I am a bit scared now.

Wow ! Nice work dude !
I'm not really surprised though.
As soon as I get my new device, I will open this plus E to check every possible part of it. I would not be surprised neither if camera lenses or other stuff were not as advertised.

So, to continue the story, here's what happened with me in the last few weeks:

- I turned off my phone (it was ~50%), put it back in its original case and stopped using it for a while
- I ordered a new battery from ebay.
- The battery arrived in good conditions, so I decided to give the phone a try (since you all are talking about a new OTA) before replacing the battery. After all, it might turn out to be a software problem.
- I opened the case, got my phone, and was surprised to see it getting super fat (Yup, you read it right "SUPER FAT"). The ON/OFF button was stuck, but I managed to click it, and nothing really happened!

- I decided to open it myself. There was the tiny warranty piece of paper on one of the screws, but I don't expect banggood or UMIDIGI to help anyway (Even if I send them back the phone and wait for them to give me a new one, it's gonna take forever, like it took them the first time to deliver it.. Therefore, I removed it and opened the phone.

- Guess what.. the battery was the thing that got fat. I bet no one saw that coming! And I also bet the battery was eating rats when I go to sleep at night!

- Obviously I managed to replace the battery successfully, and put everything back to its place. Except the minor scratches I got on the two small holes where you start removing the two plastic pieces of the back of the cover.

- The phone works fine now. I installed the new update successfully.. The battery I bought had like 60% charge. I am charging it now, but I am feeling the phone getting a bit hot. I will test it and let you know what happens.

However, I have one last request for UMIDIGI, and hope they provide a convincing answer: You said in the website description (picture below, and link here) that the battery is a SONY 4000mAh one, however, I can tell it's NOT a Sony battery (but rather some random Chinese unkown brand).  Are you sure your fast charger is good for this battery? Don't you think it's the reason why the battery gets damaged?

To be honest, I think what is damaging the battery, is this so-called fast charger. Please let me know if you have really tested it well before releasing it. Otherwise, I'd rather use a UMI Super charger or something. Better having your phone charging in 3 hours than damaging it.

(P.S. Please do not remove this reply.. it took me a while to write, and I want people to discuss what I am talking about seriously. Thanks!)

Why?
Of course there could be incorrect system calculation but as you can see your self screen and WiFi were used very hardly.
Definitely there could be battery failure too.

The same. Comrades from the forum 4pda found out the reason! The reason for the error energoprofil! Quote " we like most of the battery set with a capacity of 1000 mAh. Hence, failures in the readings of the charge and discharge of the battery. ". They even released a patch for rooted devices that solves this problem. Hopefully UMI will fix this problem.

the same thing always happens to me, not from 40 percent, but from 25 to 1percent in 10minutes. 1percent holds much longer till shutdown. I have 3g monitoring app - changed every value as MarcinP told in other thread - nothing helps.

3 c battery monitor is not for fixing battery, phone or battery indicator.
Is only for checking in history of battery voltage drop which hopefully help to understand what is wrong with phone, battery or software.
