Recently I'm having an issue that the screen just turns black and the phone dies. It needs a manual reboot. It happened in different occasions, so it seems random rather than depending on some particular program.
Phone is updated to the latest version.

Yesterday it happend once again, and today while it was locked, it wouldnt do anything...

This update is available through to FOTA but I don't know when you get on your device. To be not waiting you can use SPFT.

You can try uncheck cache memory and user data but then this update could not fix your screen issues. We always recommending check all partitions to flash full ROM

So far it's not an issue that can cause a non-useable phone, it's just sometimes annoying.
I'll wait another week for it to be received by FOTA, otherwise I'll try the manual flash.

I had this problem with my UMI Rome and fixed it with an update. This was just the  begining of problems with the Rome. It is not 12 months old and sits on my desk unuseable. The battery has swollen and stopped working. The screen is unusable, press one icon and another icon responds. The phone is totally useless. I ordered a new battery over 6 weeks ago and it has still not arrived.

If you go through the forums you'll see that all UMI phones have the same problems. UMI work on the principal that once they've sold you the phone, they got your money - you're a sucker!
