I just got a Umi Plus E and I noticed that in the Phone app the search does not return any results! It works ok in the Contacts app, but under the Phone app the result page stays blank. The Phone app also seams the only way to search for a contact by voice. Does anyone else have this problem?
By Phone app I mean the one in the bottom left and by Contacts app I mean the next one on its right
This is how it shows my contacts in the Phone app. See that I have one named "Aamon"
But when I try to search for it, it shows no result.

And here the search works ok. But I can't use voice search.

The existence of this issue has been confirmed and reported to the engineers. Hopefully it will be fixed but until that, please use the Contacts app for searching contacts.
Hi alexandrosro, I had the same issue here.. until now.
Contacts ware present in the list but "not found" using the search (inserting text using virtual keyboard - I have tried with both Android and GBoard - thinking about an character encoding problem).
I had my phone setup using the build-in migration tool (using Google Account).
After a few days and "temporary file" deletion the problem solved itself.
Frankly speaking I don't know what solved the issue.
I'm using (and I have only used) the 20161217 build.
Also please copy you contacts to phone memory and choose contacts to display all. Open contacts app - top right three dots - contacts to display - all contacts.
