UMi SUPER and MAX Android 7.0 upgrade announcement and apology

Dear UMi SUPER and MAX users,

As you know, UMi Plus was the first MediaTek SoC based smartphone in the world, that received an Android 7.0 upgrade, and to be the first one always needs to be the most careful one as well. So, to ensure there are no risks of installing android 7.0, we are going to finish pushing android 7.0 OTA to UMI PLUS users first, then we will start pushing android 7.0 FOTA to SUPER and MAX users, which should be finished by the end of the second week of January.
As some of you could realize it, the data size of a usual OTA update file is about 10-50MB, however an Android 6.0 to 7.0 upgrade package is a way bigger one with about 1.2GB of data. This case makes the spreading of the OTA upgrade much slower.
However, on 31st December, we will already be able to provide the beta test flash ROM to users, who can install with SP Flash Tool. The beta ROM will be availabe here: http://community.umidigi.com/forum-146-1.html
We are really sorry and do apologize for the delay but to ensure users are not getting any risk of upgrading to android 7.0, we must be as careful as it is necessary, even if we break an earlier promise.
So, we respectfully ask you to be a bit more patient, we will fulfill our promise in a timely manner for sure.

\n\nProblems i have with the current android 6.0 in umi super:
Camera:
no 3rd party camera app works well with umi, no exposition control, so the photo is veryyy dark.
in the native app, i dont have this issue but the app show the camera with like 3 fps, so its very laggy, and all photos are blurry.

Fingerprint:
i deactivated the fingerprint sensor cause if it's a little dirty, every 30 seconds the screen wake up saying i tried the wrong fingerprint 5 times.
i recommend you guys to remove the screen wake up and vibration to that case, cause the battery is dying because of this bug.

Harlequins LED:
i have absolutely no control of the led color with the native configurations, it lights up green for Facebook Messenger but not for Whatsapp, which is also a message application, and should be green.

Gallery:
also having problem here, when i take pictures with the screen locked, with third party gallery apps, the phone wont show the photo i've taken, neither with the 3rd party or the native gallery.

Temperature:
sometimes the phone is too damm hot, and im not doing nothing there, tried everything, including closing all open apps, disabling GPS and Wifi, nothing works, idk.

Gps:
i dont know if its hardware or software problem but the GPS is missing my position like 200m in places with no interference
the North, South poles are wrong too, looks like there is something wrong with the accelerometer or gyroscope

The dark camera and focus issues will be fixed, the battery percentage is already available even in the beta. About the battery life: you'll feel it better or not. There are many factors different at each phone, that affect that. The fingerprint sensor should work well in each version but sometimes after an update, you need to delete your old fingerprints and set new ones.

Hi UMI, it is a shame that I just registered in this community cause I felt you should know something. I bought from you a UMI Super last September and since it arrived it has been a real disappointment to me. First of all arrived with an external defect at the back case (perhaps someone was assembling it very fast that forgot to think that are people PAYING for your products), Second, GPS not working, Camera sometimes awesome pictures sometimes rahgashg pictures, 3G/4G very unstable... well, I really understand that you are trying hard to implement your ideas and vision worldwide and I appreciate that, now I do also think that you must also have a minimum of decency to make sure what you're selling is at least 50% 60% 70% 80% working (cause 100% is always impossible) and not just look at your account's balance. Now with the N update, it is for me to say that this is not the first time you fail, you've been failing since I bought it and that truly will make me question where I invest my money in the near future. Bottom line I am not writing to ask you WHEN it will be the update and if it is really going to be, I just wrote to say that maybe you should be reminded, UMI, and reminded again and again, that we CUSTOMERS are PAYING (it was not for free $$$) for a functional equipment and everything you announce for it.  Thank you if you actually read this

Lol,

This forum is much like a kindergarten. Plenty of kids whining about delayed update. Just wait and hope that it will come one flawless and bugfree

OK if you need more time to adjust the some issues with andorid N but YOU GUYS WON'T LET US WITHOUT INFORMATION ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE UPGRADE.

If you guys promise something DO IT or just inform what's happening.

It's a disrespect with us, your consumers.

Yes I agree with you, because I am a service for mobile phones, understand what is there and what no bugs, no problem to wait 1 month and even if it is ok, but should give some information picture video blah blah .. am I right? not them anywhere gone

Well again a delay. But to see things in a positive way we (the owners/fans) do get an apology. Things start to look better like this. At the end of the day we are all humans (or maybe not because this is the internet) and make mistakes, as long as we learn from them it's OK.
Make a Android 7 without bugs and all will be good.

Hi,

If you are not on the latest A6 version, the wireless update system will offer to install that first, so the A7 upgrade simply won't be available without installing the latest A6 update. With SP flash Tool you can replace any version by any version.
