Edited by Milos011 at 2016-12-20 02:21 \n\nShortcut Button on Umi Super is awesome but i dont find many uses for it since it can only open apps and i prefer to do that with the touch screen.
Features that i think should be added and are usefull:
1.Take a picture instantly - Even with the camera app opening quite fast its hard to capture a moment by having to open it then take a picture.
2.Audio profiles - It would be nice to set my phone to let say silent during an interview and un set it just with a press of a button.
3.Functionality - What i mean by this is to be able to bind the button to any function of the phone. Example: Flashlight, Airplane mode, Gps, Wifi, Bluetooth etc.
4.Additional button - in case of a button breaking it would be nice to set the Shortcut button to replace that button.
5.Song change - Change the song by pressing the button

its also possible set more functions to the button by seting them to One press Two Press Three press and Hold.
Example: One press - take picture
               Two press - Mute phone
               Three press - Open contacts
               Hold - Turn on flashlight
but its weary important for user to be able to customise the options.

Its a shame its only used for opening apps it has so much potential and i hope the Umi team will bring these features with the next update.

If you have any other ideas please post them below, id love to hear them!

Pretty well all the things you mentioned can be made functional using tasker, which of course has to be running in the background to detect the button push, alternatively you can use tasker to create an app for the function you want which fires when the button is pushed. I have one for the camera, but obviously it does not work when the screen is locked. If you want the apk pm me an email address I can send it to.

Well yeah but since its a dedicated button it would be nice if it was built into the OS, I dont need the apk i just wondered what Umi thinks about this. But thanks anyway!

Guys I can see some confusion in your explanation as shortcut button has two functions if shortcut button settings are on.
1. Open and close app which is choosed from list (short press)
2. Switch on and off meeting mode (long press)
If shortcut button settings are off then shortcut button has only one function
1. Switch on and off meeting mode (long press)

wow
i had shortcut button not answering anymore ... and was wondering if hardware was reason behind
i discovered silent mode activation from this button keeping the shortcut option off and it reacted as you described....i never checked that before
long press to get silent mode and long press to get normal mode again
it's software issue behind shortcut button not reacting anymore! but how to get a bug report on that?
i reactivated shortcut option in parameters and abracadabra app i selected switches on while pressing this button .... issue i have been wondering how to solve for more than three weeks now :-(
if i still wonder what was reason keeping shortcut option stuck , i on the other hand discovered accidentaly reading your post how to recover it
if you don't know the why at least use the how
thanks
