Hello!

I broke my Umi Super screen again (cracked in my pocket!) and replaced the screen by myself. This time I managed to broke the ear speaker during replacement and I had to order the new speaker. The red cable was easy to fix, but I can't solder the negative (black cable) because there is no solder left on the negative side, just a black spot and solder won't stick to it. Hard to explain with my bad English, but maybe the picture will give you more details.

Is this possible to fix or do I have to order a whole new main board? It costs almost 90 euros + shipment so maybe I will throw my Umi to the lake if the fix ain't possible.

You could try to drill a tiny hole, on the negative spot and mount the black cabel to the backside. Might work.

Thanks for the tip! On the backside there is this little black box, so I don't know if this works. But maybe I have to try...

Man don't drill as you damage completely motherboard. Don't forget that in modern technology of motherboards is multilayer type which could include currently up to 10 layers in smartphones and in other devices up to 16 layers  . Probably you used to strong soldering iron and you burned out mother board spot or hopefully just solder. I would recommend you to use soldering flux or flux paste. Clean your soldering iron tip with damp cloth or damp sponge then apply a bit flux on your motherboard and apply heat from soldering tip then attached solder. Do exactly same on wire and try join two parts together.

You should use sandpaper to remove the old solder and after that apply flux to the spot on the motherboard and then solder the wire

Mate, a modern phone is not the proper device to learn how to solder.

Get a larger non-functional device like an old big radio or tv and practice there.

On the other hand, if you already managed to break the phone's screen twice, let alone the other things you broke, then maybe the phone is trying to tell you something.

Just my 2c.

Since the solder is sticking out only it would get affected by the sandpaper, and its a lot better than drilling into the phone.
