Need help with GPS

Hello.
I've bought an Umi Touch as a gift for a family member.

During testing the functionallity, I've ran into an issue, that the GPS has problems to keep my position in a stable way during car navigation.

I've put the phone into the same smartphone holder as I usually use my own phone for navigation.

I've made a little screen recording to show what I mean. It is starting harmless and is getting more and more worse over time. During the video you will notice passing a rotary traffic. In real live I've arrived the rotary traffic some seconds after I've passed it in the video. You can see the real passing time when you watch out for the slowing down driving speed.

Any help for it? Or shall I ask the seller for refund? The currently GPS quality is not acceptable for me.

We are sorry for your inconvenience. Could you please test your GPS with GPS Test under the free sky and post a screenshot here? Please let the GPS to stabilize for at least 3 minutes before taking the screenshot You can take a screenshot by pulling down 3 fingers on the screen.

It's an extremely common issue with all UMI Touch models.  Mine works slightly better if I disable high accuracy GPS in location settings and leave it on GPS device only.  It's more than likely a hardware issue.

weird that my answer was deleted. As I said, check out the forum and see that this is a well-known problem that Umi won't or can't fix. So, just ask for your refund. In the forum u also see a lot of other problems and bugs...

This is a known issue - when I use the phone to navigate (no matter with which app) I find that the phone think I'm still moving or just position me in a near by road (issues that I dont have on other phones I own).
Basically I've tested the accuracy of the GPS and it's far less accurate than the other phones I own (LG G2 and Nexus 5).

This phone was abandoned by UMI so you better return it and buy a new one since these problems will not be resolved.
I can promise you that UMI answer will be "contact your reseller"...

It took a while, till I had time for this. I'm sorry for the long time to my answer.
Here are the results (did it 2 twimes with shopping inbetween):



I've watched this test app during driving. Most of the time I had connection to 7 satelites. Sometimes it dropped to 6. One single time it raised to 8. The tour took around 15 Minutes.

Note:

I've had these other smartphones in use within the same phone holder in the same car while driving the same route as in the video shown:

- Samsung Omnia 7 (Windows Phone)
- Motolola Defy (Android)
- iPhone 4 (iOS)
- iPhone 6 (iOS) -> my current phone

I've never had issues with any of them. To compare, a video of my current own smartphone:
