[I don't know if this post is ok here, but I hope more people will read it than if it were in the French section...]

Hello, I bought a Umi eMax six months ago, and a Super recently.
The phone is compatible 4G (the frequecies that are used by my operator), but there was a problem...   My operator here in France (Free, yeah, that's the name) gives 50 GB of 4G data, and 20 GB of 3G (if your phone is compatible 4G). Otherwise, you just have 3 GB of data...
The problem is that my eMax, just as my Super and (I guess, for there are so many complains about this on the Internet...) all the Umi models are NOT recognised by Free as 4G-ready phones.
According to many sources, Free has a database full of IMEI codes, wich indicates if the phone is a 4G one or not.  But for many Chinese phones (especially Umi ones because they use old IMEI in their smartphones), they are not in this database...  The result is that I can use 4G....  But only 3GB...  Plus, it is illegal here to change the IMEI.
Free's people I had on the phone told me they cannot do anything, the constructor must do it.
So here is my request :  Please contact Free, and give them the IMEIs that you use to make your smartphones !
This would be really nice, they are many people who have this problem...

Thanks !

C'est illégal d'utiliser l'IMEI d'un téléphone qui ne t'appartient pas. Ca veut dire que si t'as un iPhone 5/5S/5C mort, tu peux utiliser son IMEI car il t'appartient.

It's illegal to use the IMEI number of a phone that you don't owe. It means that if you got a dead iPhone 5/5S/5C , you can use its IMEI number because you own it.
