EMAX Battery usage

Over the past week I've experienced a significant change in battery performance. Previously I had the screen on full brightness, with both wifi and bluetooth enabled, and it kept its charge all day with light use. Now over about 8-10 hours without any use at all (other than receipt of email and perhaps some app updates which occur automatically) it goes from 100% to zero (refuses to switch on) even with bluetooth disabled, screen brightness reduced and intelligent power savings enabled.

On going to the battery part of the settings menu, I discover that it tells me that it has been on 32d 1hr 23m 49s on battery - it is not resetting the stats when discharged or when on charge. Currently it has mobile standby 21% WI-Fi 19% Phone Idle 17% Android System 10% google maps 9% media server 8% screen 8% and browser 6%. Nothing unusual there - but as I've only had the problem for a few days of the 32 it has been recording data it is impossible to tell what is going on right now.

Has anyone else had problems like this?
How do I reset the battery stats without resetting the entire phone?

Better is a upgrade with spft kitkat v5

In the meantime I'd installed Battery Monitor Widget by 3c from the play store and that seems to be providing me with all the info I need. I shall leave it a while to see what it thinks is using the battery.
