I've already announced that in another thread, UMI eMax won't get the lollipop update. That would be technically possible but this situation is caused by economical reasons. I've got known some corporate secrets about the case but only with the responsibility of not to provide them for the public. You know, If I didn't promise, I wouldn't have got the info.
What I can tell you, the development would be processed by UMI engineers but the needed source code is in TCL's hand and they demand too much for that source. The two firms are still in cooperation by current and future products, so just don't ask me how this can happen. All of these seems to be about the decisions of some leaders and nothing more. So this latter sentence was just a guess but if that's true, the situation still can change in the future. However, that's not more than a hope. |
