Ghost touch

Hello,

I've purchased a Umi Max in January and everything was fine until a month ago:
suddenly, the phone did not fall and did not get wet, touch screen events were recorded in the bottom left area of the screen near the edge: because of this, I was not able to unlock the phone and, if unlocked, calls to my contact were started.

I've installed SGS Screen Booster as someone in the forum suggested, and I have to admit that things went better.
by the way, sometimes touch events are still recorded, but I noticed that if I lock and unlock the screen while the touch event is detected, the event is no longer recognized, so it makes me think about a software issue instead of an hardware failure.

The problem occurs with both Android 6 ( MAX V1.01_20161226 ) and Android 7 ( MAX V7.01_20170613 ) roms.
I already tried factory reset, but the issue is still present.

Do you have any advice?

So you have last option to use SPFT and flash complete ROM.

I had same problem. My solution is the factory reset without sd-card. Please, try the factory reset once again without memory-, and sim card.

Hi!
In the past days I noticed that the screen was not correctly glued in the top left corner, so I disassembled the phone and taped it in a better way.
The ghost touch issue is almost disappeared, now it occurs once/twice a day only, and everytime if I lock and unlock the screen the touch's events disappear.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I will try your advice as now it seems to be just a software issue (otherwise I can not explain why a scren lock-unlock solves the problem).
