UMI team I really sorry to say my point of view i'm not going to compare you to competitors see th ...

UMi/UMIDIGI is traveling in the first wagon of the MediaTek train, that can be a deal breaker or a deal maker for anyone. UMi Zero was the first smartphone on earth with MT6592T, Plus E with Helio P20 and UMi Z with Helio X27. After almost 5 months of its release date, UMi Z (and Z Pro) is still the only smartphone on the market with Helio X27, that's really available for purchase. So, the competitors you talked about simply don't exist. Why do you compare to non-existent products? Why is only a promise of an other brand worth more and is better than an existing product, that you can use already? You can see that, new models using older processors (UMIDIGI C Note and G) come with Android 7 out of the box. To use and just customize already existing resources is always easier (so faster as well) than develop something completely new. The first Android 7.1.1 beta release for UMi Z is available since 29th April, you can install, you can use it as a real product but the final product must be done without the possibility of using existing and tested resources.

The OTA update is almost ready to be released but as a reaction to the testers' feedback, some unplanned modifications are being processed causing some delay. According to the latest info, the SP Flash Tool format of the first final version is going to be released on this Saturday (I'll share it here in the ROM section as soon as possible), then after a few days of testing, it will be pushed to the OTA server as an official and wireless system upgrade.

I really don't understand why all the rush for the update! Well...I really want to update to Nougat but I want a solid 7.1.1 if you guys so in pain for the 7.1 you can always use the beta.
Like the admin said, UMI is going  on the front  of the race and that's excellent but you pay the price for that and develop from sources are not so easy.

I really don't understand why all the rush for the update!

Hardly a rush at this point! Uni made a big thing of the coming update to N in the presale advertising, and O is already well on the way and N isn't here yet for us.

I'm glad that it takes time, anyway people are complaining because they are late, and people will rally because there are bugs, in the end, I like so much a rejected version without bug, A version released fast but full of bug.

In other words, stop screaming, there will always be something to say, save you time!
