Hi, I'am new to this kind of forum, I bought the phone in May and now I've the problem with the battery you discuss here but my phone is not recharged at all. After the battery fall down the phone goes off and never start again, after two days in charge the red led blink but don't turn green and the power button isn't functioning. Someone of you knows how much cost return the phone to be repaired? Or if it is possible to replace the battery? Thank you.

After the latest OTA the battery issue has been fixed.
As I stated MANY times before it was a soft ...

I installed the latest firmware update and everything was solved.
Try looking at apps that drain your battery : I discovered that the outlook app from Microsoft drains the battery almost 4 times faster.

So, to continue the story, here's what happened with me in the last few weeks:

- I turned off my phone (it was ~50%), put it back in its original case and stopped using it for a while
- I ordered a new battery from ebay.
- The battery arrived in good conditions, so I decided to give the phone a try (since you all are talking about a new OTA) before replacing the battery. After all, it might turn out to be a software problem.
- I opened the case, got my phone, and was surprised to see it getting super fat (Yup, you read it right "SUPER FAT"). The ON/OFF button was stuck, but I managed to click it, and nothing really happened!

- I decided to open it myself. There was the tiny warranty piece of paper on one of the screws, but I don't expect banggood or UMIDIGI to help anyway (Even if I send them back the phone and wait for them to give me a new one, it's gonna take forever, like it took them the first time to deliver it.. Therefore, I removed it and opened the phone.

- Guess what.. the battery was the thing that got fat. I bet no one saw that coming! And I also bet the battery was eating rats when I go to sleep at night!

- Obviously I managed to replace the battery successfully, and put everything back to its place. Except the minor scratches I got on the two small holes where you start removing the two plastic pieces of the back of the cover.

- The phone works fine now. I installed the new update successfully.. The battery I bought had like 60% charge. I am charging it now, but I am feeling the phone getting a bit hot. I will test it and let you know what happens.

However, I have one last request for UMIDIGI, and hope they provide a convincing answer: You said in the website description (picture below, and link here) that the battery is a SONY 4000mAh one, however, I can tell it's NOT a Sony battery (but rather some random Chinese unkown brand).  Are you sure your fast charger is good for this battery? Don't you think it's the reason why the battery gets damaged?

To be honest, I think what is damaging the battery, is this so-called fast charger. Please let me know if you have really tested it well before releasing it. Otherwise, I'd rather use a UMI Super charger or something. Better having your phone charging in 3 hours than damaging it.

(P.S. Please do not remove this reply.. it took me a while to write, and I want people to discuss what I am talking about seriously. Thanks!)

Wow ! Nice work dude !
I'm not really surprised though.
As soon as I get my new device, I will open this plus E to check every possible part of it. I would not be surprised neither if camera lenses or other stuff were not as advertised.

As is in advertising Umi plus E contains Sony cells in battery and is supporting fast charging. Umi super charge also is fast charger so there will be no different.
If you want charging slowly you need use 5V 1A charger.

I suspecting battery fault. Please open phone (you will loose warranty) and check battery. Also you can download 3C battery widget from playstore and check battery voltage which give you information about battery health.

contains Sony cells in battery

This is the LAMEST excuse.
Moreover, it was NOT specified it was Sony Cells and not Sony Batteries as advertised, therefore it is ANOTER FALSE ADVERTISEMENT from Umidigi.

You guys MUST STOP THIS BEHAVIOUS OF FALSE ADVERTISING STUFF in order to trick customers.

This is the closest thing to SCAM as possibile.

Other types of batteries will never last so many charging and discharging cycles especially with fast charging.
We know that some batteries could have manufactured fault but we need remember that every battery have 6 months warranty from manufacture faults but this is not including normal tear and wear which is nothing unusual.

My battery has just started playing up too. It got REALLY hot the other day, and shut itself down. On restart, now my battery life has dropped from a day to about 7-8hrs ON STANDBY! Using something like Camera will get the unit hot and drain battery much quicker. Plus my screen now has slight brighter spots on the screen, which are slowly spreading.
I've had so much trouble with this phone, with brightness level stuck, and now fast draining battery and screen spots.
It's pretty obvious we have been scammed by UmiDigi with false advertising and badly built product. I'll never buy from them again.
