Umi Plus and GPS Signal

I think something is wrong with the WI-FI position data.

Could you please test this:
1.
Disable Wi-Fi, Disable location, Disable mobile data and close the Google Maps app completely
2.
Enable mobile Data and location
3.
Start Google Maps wait for the GPS fix and Navigate

Don’t enable the WI-Fi Module during the test. I think the position data from the WI-Fi Module provides the position jumping. This could be a simple Software bug.

I think that is necessary to choose in location menu "only GPS". Another way, you are with WiFi working.

sono possessore da qualche giorno di UMI Plus e riscontro gli stessi problemi del GPS. mi auguro che al più presto risolvono il problema...

El Gps funciona correctamente únicamente con el tipo de ubicación "solo gps" y poniendo el móvil en modo avión. Hay que utilizar aplicaciones como maps o Here con mapas offline.

El problema por tanto es de hardware por incompatibilidad de señales de antena de móvil, wifi y gps.

some experiences form UMI Plus phone:

I have received the mentioned device few days ago. I have tried to check what is the possibilities because I heard a few things from MTK's phones earlier.
The phone quality and condition is good and it is the same as described. The performance is completely good and there is not any lag during app install, switching between applications, etc. The first impressions were encouraging. And after I have checked the  most important thing is the GPS function.

So then came the blow from the sky.
"GPS being slow to acquire signal and after that jumping around and not following direction smoothly as expected."
Yes it is my experience too.

I am very annoyed because the phone is absolutely fine except for the GPS.

I am waiting for any answer from UMI because I am also "isolated" owner!!!

The compass also does not work properly and I don't know whether this is related to the GPS problem, the compass spinning wildly in all directions and a calibration does not help.

Hi everyone,
also on my UMI Plus the GPS is very bad.
I've the latest firmware and I've tried almost every solution explained in the prevoius posts.

Am I also an "isolated" owner?

I have the same problem too in Spain.

I have the same problem. Erratic behavior in Google Maps. Driving on a main road in The Netherlands, suddenly Google Maps said I diverted from the road, I had to turn and return to the main road. I was still driving on the same road.

My "old" Note 3 which I keep "just in case" beside my Umi Plus just went on smoothly, correctly displaying my location.
