I finally can reproduce your phenomenon, this seems to happen when I do a manual focus on a bright location/place/object.  Doing a manual focus on a dark place/object, just the opposite happens.

True but this should be available in:

Options -> Battery...

And not on some hidden special menu...
This is what im talking about...

I have been in touch with them about these issues and what could be done to mitigate them...

I feel the biggest bugs are the Battery and the Camera. For a 4000Mha it should last a day without issue, and the camera is abysmal, there really is no excuse for that!

Any news on the new Firmware for all this mess?

I was going to order a second SUPER for my wife, but now, im still on hold to see if UMI can really fix these issues...

What have you tried to resolve the problem ?

Have you flashed an older ROM version i.e. before 16062016 to see if that resolves the issues ?

Are these problems happening after you upgraded the ROM?
