If it's any use, i have a giffgaff sim card in the UK with a monthly data package, when i first started using my UMI super, i could only get a 3G connection.

After a week, it started to connect to 4G at times, then another week after that i tend to get 4G connection most places i go to.

Sometimes it can take a while to kick in if you've just started using your sim on a new phone, depending on the operator.

Hi, I have just 5 days with the UMI Super a great phone but unhappy mind the 4G band that brings default cell does not work in Mexico, I could tell if there is any solution for that I can not make you connect to 4G LTE 3g only works on me, as I can modify B2 B4 are those that manage companies in my country Thanks

Hi,

I'm sorry to tell you but current UMi smarphonts don't support the LTE bands used in American countries. You can use only 2G and 3G networks.
Please check and compare the compatible bands on the official specs page or you can check it on willmyphonework.net

Sorry but that's not an issue but the limitation of the hardware, so it cannot be resolved (other LTE bands be applied) by a software update.
Later UMi models are planed to support all LTE networks of the world.

Does that apply to Portugal also? Using an App such as GPS Reset I can see that the application can identify the  UMTS bands. However, the phone always is showing 3G, never 4G.

That is odd. For instance, I live in Uruguay and 4G LTE uses bands 1700 to 2100 MHz and the UMI Super supports 2100 MHz LTE, at least according to the specs.

EDIT: Never mind, I think it's a Band 4 vs. Band 1 issue.
