We have already verified this with the technical department. You can try the following options: In the off state, press the power key and volume down simultaneously.  Move the cursor up and down by volume up (volume + key) and volume down (volume - key), power key is determined  There are 5 options  1 reboot system now (reboot, leave recovery mode) 2. apply update from external storage (update the ota package inside the SD card) 3. wipe data/factory reset (clear user data, including /cache and /data) 4. wipe cache partition (clear the temporary data in /cache) 5. apply update from cache (update / cache inside ota package)  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.  Regards Gloria, GearBest Customer Service http://www.gearbest.com/ this is what they replied to me after i told my phone wont turn on...but dont turn on and dont turn on in recovery also! I allready flashed.i can flash but still wont turn on, think problem is a defective battery but gearbest sucks....

So please reply to Gearbest that you followed their recommendations and phone still won't turn on and you waiting for correct solution.

Please flash in firmware upgrade and test. If doesn't help please flash again with older ROM. Also please connect your charger and charge for minimum 1 hour before trying restart.

They still have the chance to fix up stuff. Be patient. I also own the phone for some months now. It is a bit sad that the updates broke stuff though.

After the recent update of the Umidigi Z2 firmware, the phone has been having issues especially with killing background applications immediately after screen off. I ve been enjoying everything about this phone b4 this update please is there away to roll back this update? And if not when is this issue going to be resolved? Thanks..

the phone was in chargevfrom 2 days, tried to flash in firmware upgrade also. phone wont turn on, also tried to change flash with battery or flash without battery, tried to flash with format all , Belive me i tried everything, sure the battery is defective.And i can repair to my self but cant find spare parts in the web yet, now Gearbest offert to me to send the phone in alicante for repair...I'll try, maybe i'm luck!

As far as background apps being killed, the update added a feature under settings->smart assistant for power saving management. It is on my default. Turn it off and phone operation in regards to dealing with background apps will be back to normal.
