I also believe this is the problem. Everyone here has formatted during flash process as instructed as other posts on this forum have suggested.

edit: the post we are in now has a link to the above to forum topic to solve the lost IMEI, which I followed after also losing my IMEI which probably aided in the process of erasing the fingerprint hardware.
I refuse to open the battery and void warranty to fix anything as has been recommended earlier in this forum, and am currently in talks with Gearbest to return this phone and exchange it for something else that is more reliable and has better support. Sorry Umidigi, I like the phone but this is not very good.
