Update is not causing such issues. This was tested on our testing devices and all was fine. Also we flashed system with SPFT and we didn't experience any issues with fingerprint scanner.

@MarcinP The issue is that people have formatted and updated and this is the constant to the problem. If I and others had purely flashed and did NOT format I believe we wouldnt have the fingerprint issue. I believe that the formatting has caused the loss of the fingerprint reader.

I also believe this is the problem. Everyone here has formatted during flash process as instructed as other posts on this forum have suggested.

edit: the post we are in now has a link to the above to forum topic to solve the lost IMEI, which I followed after also losing my IMEI which probably aided in the process of erasing the fingerprint hardware.

I refuse to open the battery and void warranty to fix anything as has been recommended earlier in this forum, and am currently in talks with Gearbest to return this phone and exchange it for something else that is more reliable and has better support. Sorry Umidigi, I like the phone but this is not very good.

ok ... in my case & others too ( format alll + download ) its caused this issue ... now how we can solve this problem ??? how can I return it work again..

I used QGDP flash tool with all ROM in FOURM ( official + unofficial ) all versions & nothing happen ( same result ) fingerprint hardware not available !!!!
what can I do else .. this is big problem for us & for UMIDIGI

same results with official ROM and doing the *#*#33#*#* dial code shows me "fingerprint hardware not available" message.

I had format all + download many times with anther phones & nothing happens like this issue.  I did that with ( Mi N4, Mi MIX 2 . Vernee MAX pro , Doogee MIX & MIX 2 , Infinix z5 and Oppo F5 ) its good software .. but UMIDIGI has alot of problems with all version of software ( read all issues from FORUM ) that will affect the name of the company

I have the completely identical problem. Have also run all format. And then, when setting up the device was no longer asked for the fingerprint.

UMIDIGI YOU ARE NOT LISTENING!!! We have all used the SP Flash tool and formatted and flashed and hence caused the problem. This is not a hw issue its a software issue. We have flashed ALL roms either SP or QGDP and it doesnt work. Please replicate the problem and give us a FIX!!!!!
