When UMi can not do this, release the source code.

I believe the community will solve all the issues very fast. And this great phone will be finally usable.

Edited by bluebucks at 2017-7-6 15:24 \n\nIt is really a shame to see that after not following my thread for nearly a month, there is still no change or solution for this Problem. I switched back to my Huawei P8, which really works well. Since I went back to it, I really must say that not only the Software is working way better, but the manufacturing standards are really a difference to the UMi Z. The UMi is mostly unuseable after i accidently dropped it a few times. My P8 on the other Hand survived 2 years of repeated dropping on concrete floor without a single scratch. Note, that both phones were always used with a Case and a screen protector. Also there are no spare parts you could buy to replace a broken screen or something like that. I am really frustrated about the money I lost when buying this phone. But i learned my lesson, for the future I will look more closely on what phone I buy.

For all the people that still wait for a solution for the mentioned problem, good luck is all I can wish for you.

Greetings from Germany

What type of solution you want for problem which is not existing on our testing devices?
Only what we can recommend is use SPFT and flash complete ROM as maybe you got some error during OTA update.

@MarcinP,
This is how you make customers angry. You are not able to say that your company made a mistake!!. Ypu habe been informed by many users that there is a Problem switching to mobil network after leaving WiFi zone. Just to say you don't have this Problem didn't help. We users did clean flash and it doesn't help to say  this again and again. No there is nothing User can do!! Do your JOB and give us a usable Firmware update.

Only wha ...

Ok, it´s easy like that. All the Users having issues are just to stupid to work around that problem. Why didn´t i think about that earlier? Their testing devices don´t have the problem. Well then these issues are none existant for all. Hah. I wish all the worlds problems would be as easy to handle like this!
On a more serious base:
- A lot of Umi Z users report for the same problem. Do you really think they are all dreaming this? Just because your testing devices work?

And in answer to your "just flash the ROM again" solution my very own experience:
-> did the OTA update
-> phone wouldn´t switch to mobile data after being connected to WiFi
-> flashed latest ROM using SPFT
-> phone still does not what it should do
-> flashed latest ROM again just in case...
-> phone still does not what it should do
-> flashed back to Marshmallow cause I was tired of rebooting the device to get mobile connection

How often do you expect me to flash the ROM again? After how many times will it work? Oh, i forgot. These issues don´t exist.

It's right, an IT problem is difficult to solve if you can't reproduce it. But it's possible to collect more information. As an active service desk I would do this to analyze the failure:
  • Collect the carriers. Does it work vor other customers with this carrier? Test sim cards from other carriers..
  • Grab everything about the wifi and mobil connection
  • Frontend settings: compare APN on 6 with 7
  • Engineer mode: much data about wifi, mobile transmission and some mtk logging
  • How about different hardware releases of parts?
  • Users with root could send all system logs while wifi switch
  • Developers could create an app for additional logging

I would expect a procedure like this in behalf of development.

A lot users saying that they used SPFT and flashed ROM but you need remember that some of users unchecking user data and cache memory which cousins such issues also they never informing here that they flashed this way.

Users won't send logs as they are afraid of banking etc details.
Umi Z using only one supplier (each hardware) for parts so far.
I using phone in Ireland, Ben in Hungary, and other staff in China. Also we have friends which giving updates to us about issues and so far nobody confirmed this issue.
I using two sim cards, one is main network other virtual (third party) also I using different Wi-Fi (home, work, free in shops and library etc).
APN on A6 and A7 needs to be the same as those details are used and provided by network.
