Rootjoy is no more supporting new devices. That why every new umi devices supporting FOTA update.
As you can see there is already so many umi plus users which updated devices in to android 7.0 with SPFT without any troubles.

all the other wait the OTA update!!!
the last time i try to update MT phone have problem with the usb driver, and now the same problem!!!!!!
i use Win 10.1
i am not a computer expert to load the drivers!!! the SPFT is not official UMI program!!!!
if i try to do that update and my phone have problem, i have to send it fron Greece to China and stay without phone 2+ months!!!!!!! if the warranty cover me!!!!!!!

the only official state of UMI at 13 Dec is that

The wait is over, get Android 7.0 on your UMi Plus right now!

in all places, here, UMI Official facebook, in my mail

all the others is from members!!!

UMI official had to say direct that make mistake and take the announcment back!!!

is fair for all the members that waiting the OTA update!!

I think that this subject is already fulfilled.
You can't understand that umi plus Android 7.0 update is already on servers for OTA update and here to download and upload to your phone by SPFT if you don't won't wait for OTA update as OTA update could get some delays depending different sources which are not caused by UMI.
Of course currently we don't have available OTA zip file to update your device by wireless.
That is all full explanation and my full state.

Go to settings - about phone - wireless update - check for updates.
I did say that this is not FOTA update as this is full firmware and needs to be OTA.
