Hey there,

There isn't a problem with the phone being rooted from the factory or that the boot image file isn't secure.

The problem lies with the way the file is being coded. For banking apps, when it detects that "test keys" are being used instead of "release keys", it would assume that the phone has been tampered with by a third party.

To the UMI forum administrators, please do feedback to your software development unit to change this aspect of their boot image coding so that users are able to use their banking/secure applications.

Note: This has not changed since 20160923 rom OTA version

By putting a secure boot image on the phone will that wipe the OS and all data? Or does it just affect only the boot section of the phone?

Microsoft Intune reports my phone as rooted, which prevents me from accessing any work applications on my phone.

Hopefully the Nougat ROM (in its final incarnation) will be signed with release keys.
