I was going to flash the S2 Pro with the new ROM but I am seeing posts of people that did that and are having wifi issues. I think I will wait to flash the phone, I want to be sure the ROM is stable and does not cause WiFi issues.

Hi,

After a longer time testing, I can ensure you, this update does not cause any wifi issue. From time to time, regardless of the specific model or update, there always are some users reporting new bugs that are not really related to that specific update, their suspicion is based only on an accidental coincidence, something went wrong with their update process, or didn't try to perform at least a factory data reset to resolve their issues.

One question, i have the first version of this fantastic Basic Rom (V1.0_20171207)

How do i update to this version without lost all user data and apps installed now?

This Rom is how the official rom has to be.

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI S2 Pro if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI S2 Pro to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

So far I am not having any luck trying to flash the ROM. I run the flash tool as administrator, load the scatter file, click Download, connect the S2 Pro powered off and in usb debugging mode, press volume up button, and all i get is a dead android robot with a 'no command' below that icon on the phone. The SP Flash window on my Windows 10 does nothing, no yellow progress bar, no red progress bar, nothing. I unplug the phone, power it down, power it up and at least I still have a working phone (not bricked).

4.connect the S2 Pro powered off (No need to hold any buttons)
That's should start the flash process and worked for me (I did not even enable usb debugging)

I flashed my S2 Pro with the 20180117 version, and at this time I 'm having 3 problems:

1. There are some apps in which notifications works just fine (WhatsApp, GMail, Messaging...). The notifications in other Apps just don't word. I already put them in the whitlist, but notification still not work.

2. My RAM never is used higher than 2GB RAM, and if the RAM usage goes more than that just 'Clean' the apps or if the app is in background for sometime just clean it and then if you need that App you have to wait to open the it again.

3. My facebook usually do not open, stays in the blue screen with the progress bar at the end but freezes there.

I'm evaluating the problemas that I had with bluetooth and auto brightness in the previous version. No problems with WIFI.

The 3 problemas that I mencioned, are the same problems that a lot of other users in the forum have too, and need urgent atention... please... do you have a prevision when it will be solved?

Yep I'm having the same bugs with notifications skype,facebook messenger notifications never come on the phone

And yes the facebook app will only load 1 out of 10 times if your lucky and if it does open it can take over 2 min to open

all happen on the official and Unofficial rom

I will give that a try but if it does not work i am ready to sell my phone on ebay (took photos of the phone today to prepare for selling it)
