Thank you, and to continue your words, there might be still hundreds or thousands of undiscovered vulnerabilities hiding in the system, so even if you have the latest security patch installed, your phone always remains vulnerable. The known vulnerabilities are not developed, just discovered, and after discovering the vulnerabilities of the current armor, there won't be more people owning AK-47 out there to attack you. A great majority of the Android smartphones connected to the internet around the world runs with obsolete security patch but we've never heard about a smartphone cataclysm.
From my side I frequently try to convince the developers about the importance of those security patches (important because they are hyped), so this situation can change in the future. However, even if the security patch update policy will change, those updates still won't be released forever.
