My phone with Orange sim card had the same problem but it was resolved by the 20161227 update.
The other 2 phones for my family with a sim card SFR /RED always have the same problem despite the 20161227 update.
I will try to exchange the sim cards the next time I see my brother to check if the problem really comes from there.

Hi guys
I contacted to engineers and they mentioned that there could be hardware issue cause screen ...

I tried everything... Nothing changes. The problems are present since old update to the last... I remove the SIM card, I make a factory reset... Always same!
A hardware problem? Strange because when the phone starts (logo UMI and android logo), no problem of screen! This happen just when the ROM is used... Furthermore in recovery menu, no problem of screen!
To send back it would set a lot of time since France, and I should certainly pay the shipment which are very expensive here! I bought the phone during pre-ordered, in other words : at the end of November!
Finaly, I should paid 250€ (200€ the telephone and 50€ of return shipment) for a phone which I could use only 4 months after the purchase!
Since I ordered the UMI PLUS E, I use an old phone because I have not an other more recent... But I need one for the work!

In the time it works, can you test something?

Disable wifi/wlan and set location mode to "device only" (no wifi/wlan).
So only 3g/4g service. Does the device then work longer without problems?

I switched on the airplane mode and connected the phone: for at the moment, no problem...
But where the problems comes from?
- No SIM card : problem,
- WIFI and location desactivated : problem,
But airplane mode activated : no problem... Strange!
And why when it's not plug at my home, there is no problem? But why when I travel with it, there is?

From testing there is reason to believe that the phone crashes in a certain condition that happens somewhere in the switch from wifi to mobile or the other way around, but I haven't figured out the exact rules...

Here's my theory.

I guess these are the radio states:
WIFI on and connected.
WIFI on but not connected (searching)
WIFI off (including location service).
4G on and connected.
4G on but not connected (searching)
4G off.

When some of these states change, depending on the other states, the phone seems to crash in a certain condition.
This can also happen while in standby (screen off), from automatic android functions, so it doesn't wake up (crashed in standby).

At least that's the theory

Good theory!
The question is : Who needs a smartphone if it must stay in airplane mode?
The UMI PLUS E makes a good MP3 player lol
