Just picked up the UMI from screen replacement joint. Bought one on aliexpress, replacement done locally - total of $70. Roughly a third of a phone's initial cost. We'll see if it was worth it.
my Umi (not so) Super also cracked its screen from a very small knock......I think it is not really Gorilla Glass at all...
Anyway, the replacement screens in Aussie $$ is over $100-$200 (if you can find one) and some on this forum have found that the replacement screens do not work properly....easier to buy a new phone I think..
I bought a new Umi Super LCD screen from AliExpress and my local shop got it fixed the same day. it costed 60euro to order and 35 to get it fixed. Luckily it was all covered by the insurance. Screen works great I just need to find where I ordered my previous screenprotector because this one doesn't seem to make full contact.
Do you know if i can replace umi super only digitizer with a new one, without replacing lcd screen?
Because as i see here all of you have replaced lcd screen and digitizer

Just wanted to let you know that I successfully separated my Umi Super LCD/digitizer from the front base. I couldn't find any pictures of it so I wanted to share it. I separated it using a hot air gun heating it up very slowly on the front of the touchscreen. During heating I pressed my fingernail between the plastic edge of the front base and the edge of the digitizer. Moved around the whole edge of the screen and eventually it came lose. The screen is only glued at the edges and not on the back of the screen. Hope my Ali express replacement LCD/digitizer will get here soon. :-) Good luck!

Hey, Is it possible to separate LCD from digitizer? I'm asking because I would like to replace my touch screen (it's broken), but the LCD is in good condition . I want to know, because touch panel alone is cheaper --> Aliexpress
