Dear users,

Please, share the google play store links of some problematic apps. They probably check the root access by an incompatible/wrong method and we should contact their developers to find a solution.

Bence

Hi bencebacsi,

Thanks for the link you shared but here's my problem. I am not an expert in rooting the phone, I don't want to be, so I assume the phone arrives unrooted. So is there a simple way to use the 'locked' boot image?

thanks

Hi bencebacsi,

Thanks for the link you shared but here's my problem. I am not an expert in rooting  ...

Hi ShoreRam, it's actually pretty easy, follow the procedure under the ROM section of this forum, use Flash tool with win 7 it'll be very easy and stable, keep in mind: at the stage u click download in flashtool, if nothing happens push the power buttons a couple times and ull see the red bar starting to load.

1 install flash tool on win 7
2 download the drivers which are provided in the ROM section,
3 download secured bootloader from the link under the orange paragraph in the ROM forum section
4 download 20160616 latest ROM (again under ROM forum section)
5 load scatter image in flash tool
6 uncheck all files
7 replace the boot file by the secured one, and check it
8 hit download button in flash tool and push power button on the device until red bar starts loading
9 after flashing is finished wipe cash in recovery mode
10 still in recovery mode, apply a factory reset
U're all done then buddy

Dear acsa83,

It's just a warning (a false alert at this time) in that app but you still can use it. I can ensure you, the system of the stock ROM (if you haven't rooted it by yourself) is secured and malicious apps or remote actions cannot access it.
Thank you for your kind words and I was glad to help you.

Regards,
Bence

Dear users with root security issues,

Could anybody share a link of a such app, that not just shows a root alert but refuses to work as well?
Thank you in advance.

Bence

Hi, I recently purchased the UMI Super and am having issues with an application I use for my work email (Good for Enterprise). It says the phone is rooted and will not work. I came across this thread and saw the link for the "Secured boot.img" fix and thought that might resolve the problem. However, I just tried some banking apps and they work fine, so I'm not sure if I have the "Secured boot.img" problem in the first place.

Also, I have firmware v3.01_20160708 for which I found the link http://community.umidigi.com/for ... t=v3.01%5C_20160708 and that has no mention of "Secured boot.img" so is that fixed in this version of the firmware?

Any ideas?

UPDATE: After researching a bit more, I have found that the Good for Enterprise app continuously searches for files/apps that it considers are a sign of a rooted phone/danger (e.g. SuperUser.apk). So sounds like this problem is not rooting issue itself and maybe should be in another thread. Still, it would be nice for someone to confirm whether 20160708 firmware has the "Secured boot.img" problem or not.

Edited by ocv1269 at 2016-8-15 21:23 \n\nAny , has secured some boot image file for the latest version ??   I cant run Entrust OTP app in my UMI SUPER (IM not rooted my phone , Its NEW - Out of the Box) , which my other cell if he did !!   ---  It is a great cellphone in many ways, but this issue is very annoying and troublesome for those who manage our finances in our new cellphone.
Im not wish rooted my UMI SUPER, and less install complicate software in my cellphone (Xplode, entrust otp Unbloker.. etc) because it must be rooted that my cellphone, and that is precisely what has caused the problem, the detection (supposed False alert) of a boot or unsecured ROM image.
