Hi, You can't root your phone without having the same boot.img file downloaded that you have installed on your phone. So that's a question why you started to experiment. Please share your current ROM version and I'll check it.

no i updated the phone.  I cant remember what the new version was as it updated automatically on me when i was setting up the phone. Thanks ill give this a try today

I thought I'd reply to myself and hopefully help someone else.
Tested on Bison Pro 4gb/128gb and all worked fine. Thanks to bencebacsi for all tutorials on the forum!
