Please let me know who is your contact at UMi. Nobody? Then please select your words before writing them down and don't claim something that you know nothing about. The engineers are working on the next version for UMi Super and MAX simultaneously.
The UMi Super is a 9 month old model, it's still in production and its software still receives updates

i stay optimistic about umi in general and the super and nougat in special. android v7 seems to be causing quite some troubles - but not for umi alone, look at samsung (especially germany) and htc (they stopped rollout 3 times!!!) so the problems are there but that does not say that umi is not competent enough to solve them properly. (also keep in mind the low price you got powerful hardware in exchange)
also, silent and long work usually means good things, it could well be we not only see the problems fixed, but also new features introduced.
