I must say that google search thing i dont need, in the great scheme of things i use my phone as,,,,, a phone.
Expanding my knowledge i do at home on my computer with a high speed cable connection, i cant come up with a situation where i would need to search google for something.

As much options UMI can make for people to decide them self what is on the phone and screens the better, not being able to do that much on many other phones is what turned me off those, and it was also the reason i got a windows phone 4 years ago, it dident have much BS installed i had to remove.

A clean phone ( to start with ) is not something many others offer, and i think its a good thing for UMI to offer.

Disable the "search" app. Alternatively if you're rooted Uninstall it.  Post time 2017-3-5 21:06

I just understand what you are saying! This android is almost AOSP. It has pre-installed only basic apps to use phone. If only google app is not what you need is not a problem. Even if you buy google pixel you wil have installed same basic apps. I asume that you never had phone from samsung, sony or any other manufacturer. There you can see what is bloatware...

Light weight android is one of few good things on this phone

- Allow better use of the screen with a screen density of 400dpi instead of the current 480dpi.
[..]

Concerning the dpi:

You can change your dpi with adb (no root required) or an installed terminal app (root required) with this tutorial:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/guide-how-to-change-dpi-root-t3335596

I chose the root-method and changed my density to 400 (Original is 480 I assume) and it looks fine.

The screenshot shows a density of 400.
Since then I've changed it back to 440 as I mostly don't need such small fonts.

I use the Nova Launcher to be able to use more icons on the homescreen.

The battery drains really fast, the wifi doesnt auto-connect and the touch screen isnt accurate. And lately all the audio stops working until i reboot. This is truly a waste of a good phone. Im buying a huawei p10 next
