Now that's a good idea.  Sadly I cannot get to the app store directly as the error pop up appears and cannot be ignored.  Error: Unfortunately, Launcher3 has stopped.  (OK button appears too).
You have to hit ok and then it locks the device and your back to square 1.  You can swipe down on lock screen and get into settings but cannot navigate to the app store to download another launcher.
If you have the APK and can host then i can try to load onto the microsd card, but i'll need pointers on how to install from memory card without a working launcher to begin with.

Nooooooo.... I was literally just thinking that.  Luckily most items are stored onto the sd card, but very frustrating that there's noway to rectify without going down this route.  I'll give it until the end of my working day and see if there's another solution, but if not then i thank you for this suggestion.  Much appreciated.

Hi,
if the system settings are still there...
then go to APPS --> upper right corner --> system processes --> select the Launcher3 APP --> reset  that --> delete the data of that App --> then try one more time..

Hey There, Yup i've tried that several times and just now but still it doesnt fix the issue.Thank you for suggesting this.

I've been using my UMI Z for 15 days now and I must say that I'm very happy about it. The only minor issue I had was with the inverted gyroscope (minor because I wasn't using any apps that were dependent on it). Fortunately it was fixed with today's OTA update, so now everything pretty much works perfectly for me as far as I can tell. I think it's really fast, the user experience is very, very smooth, and I had no sudden reboots so far (on my previous smartphone from another brand I used to experience a few random reboots, that was very annoying).
I also noticed the improvement of the fingerprint. I don't know what they changed, but it seems to be much more reliable and fast now (it used to fail a few times prior to today's update).

Itested also with my Cars the Bluetooth...
Very sad to tell, that both Cars are able to connect shortly, but no Headset function.
So that was a negative result for me, before the update it was working ....

Here's the official changelog:

1. add "double tap" wake up screen funtion
2. battery life optimized (fixed the battery drain problem)
3. fix problem of Gyroscope issue
4. camera optimized
5. finger print issue fixed
6. optimized screen touch sensitive

Both the SP Flash Tool release and the OTA update file will be shared in the ROM section tonight.

Not fixed:

- smallwindow app crashing when playing from Google Music (so annoying!!!)
- VPN connection profile disappearing after reboot
- 4K video cannot be uploaded to YouTube
