Genau dieses Problem ist bei meinem UMI-Z aufgetretten, der G-Sensor ist für alle VR-Apps um 90% gedreht, der Sensor ist für alle andern Anwendungen  in Ordnung, aber mit Google Cardboard arbeitet er unkorrekt. Ich habe bereits eine Fehlermeldung an den UMI-Support gesandt, leider bis heute noch keine Antwort. Schade die Serviceleistung wird dem sonst so tollen Handy nicht gerecht. UMI hier ist dringend Bedarf zu Verbesserung.


Hello friends, this problem is blown in my UMI-Z, G-sensor is rotated to 90% for all VR apps, the sensor is for all other applications in order, but he works incorrectly with Google cardboard. I have already sent an error message UMI support. Unfortunately until answer now. Too bad the service does not do justice to the otherwise great phone. UMI here is urgently needed to improve.

Hello!

Same problem here.
Not only with the Google Cardboard app, but also with other VR apps.

And there's another problem:
Original Youtube VR app cannot be installed on UMI Z.

According to the app's specifications (Android 5.0 or higher), it should be possible,
but Google Play Store tells me, that it cannot install it on my UMI Z

I also wrote an e-mail to the UMI support.

Please, UMI, take this problem seriously.
At the moment, this powerful smartphone cannot be used for VR.

Hello, G-Sensor and Gyro-Sensor are not the same. The Gyro is the issue, but UMi already said that this will be fixed with an upcoming Update.

Same problem here.

To use the "YoutubeVR" app you need to install the "Youtube" app. With my UMi Z device there is no problem with app-functionality. You can also try to restart your device.

Thanx for the tip, but doesn't work.
I installed youTube, re-started te phone and tried to install youTube VR.
Same problem, Play Store tells me "device is not compatible"

Hello Ekkr,

Thanks for finding one more bug.
I also tried to install the Youtube VR app, and got the message saying that the device is not compatible.
That's totally unnacceptable.
If we don't get a firmware update in one week I will open a dispute in Aliexpress, where I bought the phone.

Thanks for the note, yes exactly but in the android 6.0 under calibration, there is only the G-sensor. The gyro has no adjustment. So the necessary correction is  by UMI

Engineers don´t. Community managers do and they notify the engineers with the issues. Also since there was a Chinese New Year the engineering team was on vacation.  Post time 2017-2-3 15:21

Hey UMI, it can't be that difficult to fix this bug, why do we have to wait?
You know, there are many websites introducing and testing China smartphones.

Guys software development is not an easy task, don´t expect that the issues will be solved in a matter of days. It´s not they don´t listen to your complains, just the fixes are not that easy to implement, test and distribute.
