If you think umi is rubbish wait till you try and deal with xiomi. They dont care their products don't work. Their software is also very intrusive and hard to get rid of if you ever have to install something on the computer for what ever reason. I ordered a xioumi bluetooth/wifi dongle from them and the wifi software is a trojan if i ever saw one and the 360 software you had to install to get it working is still lurking in my registry to this day no matter how many times i delete it. Not to mention it was only to make it look like the dongle was working when in actuality it could never connect or work without my other wifi card. Plus you won't find forums on old products and they never keep old downloads up for people who don't have the newest newest products. Try finding something in english go for it have fun surfing thier page in chinese and using thier software in chinese. Have fun with that bud. At least here there is an active community with people asking questions and others finding answers and moderators stepping in now and then with tid bits of info no one knew about. I don't like waiting either but theres always xda and other forums with people working on different solutions even if umi decides to s**t on us. It's kool they let us beta test and be apart of the upgrade process. They don't do that everywhere.
I had a piece of software like that on my PC once, I think it was living in ram on boot up and rewriting itself when deleted or the PC shut down. To get rid of I deleted the software then simulated a power failure so it could not re-write itself.
I don't think umi is rubbish, but the GPS on my phone certainly is, and from what I can see I'm not alone either on the super or other umi phones. GPS is a key functionality I look for on smart phones.
I have other brand phones and GPS works perfectly on NUBIA Z7MAX
UMI PLUS and GPS does not work well, the updates do not improve the operation of GPS fix

Currently the Android 7.0 release for UMi Super is in development. When it finishes, that needs just a few days to port the same ROM to the MAX, that doesn't need further developments. However, to every time create working beta versions for both models would seriously slow down the whole project.

...and before we forget - Please tell the development team to sign the ROM using release keys before shipping the final! More and more (it seems) "critical" apps (like banking apps, and some versions of the Wear Companion app) seems to check this, and refuse to run, rejecting the device as "tampered with" if it's signed with test keys.
