Edited by blessed at 2015-9-2 14:55 \n\nUnfortunately, I also have exactly the same issues. My nano sim card is original from the mobile network carrier (not cut by myself). I also tried a number of different sd card, format the sd card many time using different formatting software and different file system.

Sometime I can get it to work using a working sd card from other android, but after reboot the issue is recurring.

I really hope this is just a software issue that will be fix soon, because it's not easy to ship it back from Australia.

Sorry to read that you've got this problem, Blessed, as I don't see any easy solution here.

Bencebacsi, the successful flashing method was Flashify as normal. Don't know why it didn't work the other times I did it.

I've tested other three cards that are being used on Android phones with no problems: Samsung 32GB MicroSDHC Class 6, Samsung MicroSDHC 8GB Class 4 and Kingston 2GB MicroSD (no HC here, so no class either).

None of them do work.

I've recorded a video of the problem for the reseller, quite bad quality, but if you want I can share it here just in case it's of some help.

I have the same problem. Reports the damaged card .A card works on other phones. I still think it can be solved through software.

Yeah, I don't think it's a mechanical issue. The phone actually recognize the sd card, only it reports the card as damaged; It fails to format the sd card and cannot boot up properly with the sd card inserted.

I don't think it's software related, as some phones work and others don't regardless of the ROM version, and even having the same version.

Like bencebacsi, I think it's mechanical, but I'm not willing to void the warranty just to check it out.

Thanks, bencebacsi, you've been more than helpful proposing the tests and thinking some workarounds.

Just out of curiosity, two quick questions to all people having this issue: where did you buy the phone and when did the reseller ship it?

Mine's from Antelife.com and was shipped August the 19th.

My phone is going back.  I bought mine from GeekBuying - ordered on 22nd August I think?

It's DEFINITELY a hardware problem! If it was software related then I wouldn't have had exactly the same experience in V1.5 AND V1.6

I didn't 'crop' or 'cut' my SD card either.  Sim cards these days don't need to be customised by end-users because they come pre-cut from the manufacturers and all you do is pop out whichever size you need.

The good news is that I'm going to get a replacement. I'm sticking with this phone because I liked it enough to buy it in the first place and I LOVE RootJoy

I don't know if anyone at Umi reads this forum but if they don't, they should.  In order to maintain customer confidence, stuff reported here should be fully investigated and resolved.
