Edited by Falcon146 at 2016-12-23 02:16 \n\nWhat is the auto installer for ?

Look that's all I'm  ...

Auto installer is for installing vcom driver automatically.
Yesterday you said that your computer recognising your phone when is switched off, which is correct.
"My MTK usb port com 5 is there and not disappearing which is good I guess ? but I once I turn off my phone and plug it back I have Mediatek Preloader USB VCOM (Android ) (COM 3) showing up and then disappearing."
Now you complaining that your computer is not recognising your phone.
Please look on Google to find some vcom driver and SPFT tutorial. Otherwise you will be no able update your phone.

When you plug in your switched off phone to computer sometimes you will not get any information but  sometimes you will get information mediatek preloader........ .
As I said when you open SPFT and start downloading ROM, after plugged in to computer switched off phone everything should start in not start that is mean that your driver is not working correctly.

I agree but it doesn't work either ways, I keep getting the same error message. Moreover, If the procedures were correct I should have been able to do the firmware upgrade which is not the case. Once device connected windows makes two sounds one which means it was detected then the sound for something that was disconnected. It's not my fault I bought a product and I can't even enjoy it fault of the company not mine....

Thank you for the help and patience this is the last time I'm buying something for UMI the quality control is not there at all.

Edited by MarcinP at 2016-12-24 07:29 \n\nBelieve me this is not easy explain everything when you are on other side of connection and you don't have access to computers. How can I know that you doing everything correctly.
Sometimes is better starting doing everything from scrap and I can advice you to start everything again from scrap. Please go to settings - about phone and click build number around 8 times until you will get information that you are developer
Then comeback to settings go to developer options - switch on - usb debugging on. (debugging option is not recommended and no need to be switched on for SPFT but as we can't figure out what is happening with your phone update we have nothing to loose and you can try)
Then try flash your phone again

So if I understand correctly you phone found update but due to updating won't reboot. And one solution is press power button until phone shut down is that right?
