Glad to hear I'm not the only one with issues on 3 UK!!

I have tested my wife's 3 sim card in my  ...

Hi, we can do a quick check on your phone to see if your bands are enabled for the 4g .
go to dialler and type *#*#3646633#*#*

then go to  band mode and select sim2

you should have band 3, 7, 20 selected.

If they have ticks it confirms that your device has the correct network freequency bands selected

Frequency 2600MHz = Band 7
Frequency 1800MHz = Band 3
Frequency 800MHz = Band 20

Yeah checked these already.

The phone will see the 4g network but the signal strength I get is much lower than I get on my Oneplus one. This means it keeps jumping back to 3g.

I have tried disableing 3g and it will connect to 4g for a while and then drops to no network.

Beatertech, when you do a coverage check on the 3 website does it say "Great news. Our new 4G Super-Voice signal is available in this area, kicking Indoor Blackspots' ass." for your area?

This is enabled in my area and is apparently the use of the new 800mhz band. Trying to figure out if the phone is struggling with a specific band or not.

have a look at this

It may help diagnose some details on your phone.

Also i have reat if you decite have LTE only band the speeds max out, i think the speeds on 3g band are restricted. - worth a shot on testing you can always change it back.

I spotted this video a few days ago and had a play around with it.
When I set change the settings in GSM/UMTS band i see no improvement.

Bizarrely changing to USA Band seems to completely disable my 3g. When I do this in my house (where I have a very strong 4g signal with my oneplus one) I get a very weak 4g connection.

This only holds for a couple of minutes then I get no network

The reason you have to turn on Roaming is because the phone doesn't correctly determining the "home" network. Three has at least in sweden a 3G-network called 3GIS and is shared with Telenor (Vodaphone). Umi has to update the basebandsoftware with all the networks at a certain mobileoperator to avoid the need of Roaming. You aren't roaming actually, you are still using the homenetwork. You can't magicly solve this problem by changing bands because the problem is simply not there.

In my case the main problem is that it gets stack on 3g while 4g is available, in my opinion is the switching threshold for the 4g which is too high. Please umi fix it.
