Main parts of the phone are made by CAM technology but finally the complete devices are assembled by simple workers.

They are humans, so sometimes can make mistakes. What mistake could a single worker make while assembling your phone? I don't know, there are endless possibilities.
There are no serious bugs related to the GPS in the current ROM. If you try to repair your phone on your own, you will lose its warranty. Of course, that's your decision.

Hi, I've the GPS fix issue. My phone can find 22 satellites and the fix is pretty fast but when navigating the  navigator apps (Sygic, here maps and other ) takes too much time to fix the signal and can keep it only for few kilometers. The speed is very imprecise, it cannot follow the real speed... so if my car is waiting at the stop, it says 15kmh and when my car speed is 80kmh it says 40kmh. I'm a repairman and already checked inside the phone, cleaned the antenna contacts and fixed the screws, but nothing. The video doesn't  prove the good working of gps beacuse is only for some minutes and you could have a better signal in that place. I think all device are affected this problem so the replacement with a new one is only a waist time without the phone in your hand for months.

\n\nI downloaded the app “Mobileuncle MTK Tools” as in the third solution and in the setup it asked for permission to make and record calls and for access to my photos etc plus I received a message telling me I'd won a prize. I uninstalled the app. I wouldn't recommend the app.
EDIT: I reinstalled the app and I'm looking at the permissions again. I think I may have underestimated the scope of the controls in this app. My opinion is now pending until I can do a road trip using the GPS again.

Clearly there is a problem with GPS, it is not accurate (on the way the site jumps constantly and you find yourself on the road ... next to the one where you really are).
For me it is not hardware but software ...
So we have to wait for UMI want to finally do something, and as rootjoy is abandoned we will not have to custom rom to fix the problem.
Heartbreaking.

Those videos are the recordings of about 30 mins long runs but replayed at 5 times faster - look at the intro titles at the beginning. The speed was always accurate and despite the great number of maneuvers through the city, the direction was never lost. So, those videos definitely prove the good working of the GPS module. Anyway the GPS module has an integrated antenna (or just uses a part of the mainboard circuits), so that's not affected by the state of the bottom antenna module. If all devices were affected, we would know about that.

But, I have a big doubt! Change the phone by another or simply ask the return of money?

The Umi assures me that the new phone will receive has no problems?

UMI cannot take control on the current stocks of their resellers, so I suggest you to request your reseller to check your new device before shipping it.

Thanks bencebacsi, you are probably right about the good working of GPS module....
Today I tried to use navigation app with mobile data disabled and although the speed was a bit imprecise and the position often in delayed time, the apps didn't show the message 'waiting GPS signal' or similar texts.
I navigated for kilometers and the signal never lost. But if I tried to enable the data connection the signal lost immediately.
Obviously the GPS signal was in not assisted modality, so maybe the not accurate navigation.
I hope the umi engineering can verify and fix with an update fw.

I've tried all the fixes (less or more), but they don't work. All the solutions look like legends. Noany of the official channels tell me the real solution. I have no solution from umi, nor from umi forum, nor from the seller where I bought it, and neither from umi offical forum. definetively I've realized there's no true solution. Therefore my suggestion is that if you want a working GPS then don't risk and trash all the chinese MTK based smartphones. Sorry. I've spent 2 weeks on this trouble and I'm now giving bach my touch :-/
