I mean competitors in brands that play on the same field ( ulefone , Elephone ... )
I am optimistic , maybe a little too much, but I bought my phone together with a friend who bought the note 4 , which is full of bugs and it just left for repair, I use my device, I can only be optimistic , although I am angry about these false unfulfilled promises by UMI

it is a war without end , when I see the Vowney of elephone coming out , it will surely be entitled to a new Emax ...

Just to make it clear, only the two eMAX models are made by TCL, all the others are UMI factory products... as far as I know.
A suggestion. The text editor of this forum has some issues. If you edit your thread/reply after posting it, an 'Edited by...' line always gets placed in the first line, overlapping the first line of your text. If you edit it the 2nd+ time, the format of your text will be spoiled as well. So I suggest you to always leave the first line empty when you re-edit your post to avoid overlapping and always delete the existing 'Edited by...' line that you can see after the 2nd+ editing.

By the way, i think that if a manufacturer has problem to guarantee updates or fix to their products (software side) could be wise to allow community of developers (and there are many) to access source code, also if this is just to let increasing interest around a good base product from xda, for example, or single team of devs. I speak of this because i see Zopo, Elephone and other Mediatek based brands that release kernel source code (even if incomplete a good dev can fix it and makes the thing work, trust me), allowing building custom kernel....Mt6753 Elephone P8000 it's on github with "Visionary kernel", or if you go to zopo web page you'll find that speed7plus (recent smartphone) has source code released......both devices are the same base for example of Umi Iron. Why Umi cant do that?

UMI would create the lollipop upgrade for eMAX but they don't have in hand exactly that you requested: the kernel source code. The two eMAX models are manufactured by TCL for UMI - only these two models. TCL possesses the source code but they're not willing to hand it over to UMI, or only for an irrationally high price. That's the case. Maybe the manager of UMI was not enough careful when they contracted.

I am agree with you. But i think i said something right in the wrong way, i will try to better explain: generally speaking, where is pubblic shared source code used by Umi for original manufactured devices, like other companies have already shared?
I don't know if it's more clear, now. Mine is not complaining about anything, just curious to know how the thing works: for years people (me too) known that mediatek is NOT releasing source code to the masses but only for manufacturers (let's talk about original, Jiayu, Tcl, Umi, ecc..)
From some time we begin to see some company releasing source code for their products, like i said on my previous post. It's this a particular condition (contracts with mediatek) or Umi it's too busy/lazy to do this? (my words are provocatory)
Note: If my posts are off-topic, feel free to remove them...as i didn't take care in what section i posted LOL
