ricalv,

I failed to replicate your situation to get the wife to unlock my phone by adding a trusted face of myself.  In fact she still can't unlock the phone even the trusted face is hers.

I think the Android 8 has a lot of features and combinations which I found quite difficult to cope so I normally just do the simple things in order to understand behavior of each feature first.

It is no surprise if there are bugs in the software as I read even the s2 pro security section alone has 800 files.

ricalv & blueye,

Forgive me if I do not understand your proximity sensor problem.

Hello,
My problem with the proximity sensor is the screen never switches on during the entire call normal, whatsapp and 3cx, the only way to get the screen back is by terminating the call. And yes proximity sensor is confirmed active and functional by other apps, already done another factory reset to check if that would fix it and no luck.
And was working fine before Rom update, so problem appeared after update.

Does your screen switch off as soon as you accept the call, even if you put it on a bluetooth speaker thereby has no need to place the phone close to the ear and therefore should not trigger the proximity sensor?  You can do the same test with a wired ear piece with mic.

I think it pays to bottom out the problem to see if there is a fault in the proximity sensor setup or calibration. One way has to be avoiding to use the proximity sensor by the two methods described above.

If your phone worked satisfactory before the update and UMI people claimed they did not touch the proximity sensor calibration with the current update then they should be able to explain what could possibly go wrong in your phone.

When I place the call through BT the screen stays on, otherways it goes blank.

I can not hear through my headset. When using high-end or wireless headphones I hear perfect.
I tested the sound with the Hardware Test application and the headset works fine, so the problem is not hardware
I made two resets for factory parameters and the problem remains.
Is there any way to solve this bug?

So if you do not trigger the proximity sensor your phone works ok.

If your proximity sensor does function when tested then it looks like its calibration or the proximity sensor has not been set up correctly.

Don't know what to do with this situation.  I hope UMI people could give advice.

vitorangelo,

I interpret your problem as using a cheap headphone you can't hear any sound.  The cheap headphone if tested separately proves functional.

You can bypass this problem by using an expensive headphone or avoid using wired connection by switching to bluetooth headphone.

Since z2 pro does not have a headphone jack and the sound must pass through the USB-C port my conclusion is that you may have used the cheap headphones incompatible with the USB-C link or the USB-C link in your case is faulty.  However since the phone works perfectly with an expensive headset that would suggest the phone and its USB-C link are satisfactory.

Since you did not complain about the phone speakers I assume your phone work ok without the headset.

The Proximity sensor problem resolved.
Z2 pro Proximity sensor is too sensitive, so this problem had occurred because of glass film.
Even if it is one centimeter away, proximity sensor is responsive.
If I didn't take the glass film, when take a call, the screen gets dark as approach it and gets brighter as leave.
So the proximity sensor is too sensitive, I wish I could be someone's help in this way.
