Need Android Pie update and the wifi 2.4 and 5ghz fixed as well as a week cellular signal.

A few users have complained the problem of the mic but no definitive test or cure was aired.

However it seems most of them confirmed the mic would work with the recorder App which would suggest hardware wise the mic is connected if not fully functional.  Those complained about the mic seemed to suggest the phone could work normally if using a ear piece with mic (wired) too.  The exact problem with the mic has not been bottomed out and some dissatisfied with it had sent the phone back to the seller.

Personally I would suggest to a user unhappy with the mic to test it (1) using a voice recorder or calling "Hello Google", (2) using an ear phone with wired mic (3) Using test App, like "phone doctor plus"  to check the mic.  If the mic has confirmation of its malfunction then sending the phone back to the seller may be the only cure, unless those who work for UMI can offer a solution or a way out.

\n\n I have no problem with my z2 pro ceramic . The only problem that I had was the security pin at the beginning , and that I had to forget the wifi be enable the 5gz , right now , everything is working perfectly EXCEPT the camera which is C.R.A.P , total crap .... my Samsung s6 edge makes better photos and its a 4-5 years old phone .... come on umidigi . You promised us an awesome camera , with "real" bokeh effect , and beautifull photos even in dark ...
And we also want the android p update , if you want me (or us) to keep the phones , please fix the issues , and we need your confirmation that you ar working on getting the update to android p as well !

Is there anybody who is reading this from umidigi? You send an OTA update which should cure a major problem (security) - solves it and contains a NEW MAJOR PROBLEM. DO YOU TEST anything you send to all of the users? THE MOST IMPORTANT feature can't be used on a phone: calling. DO YOU understand it? When a call is placed the screen goes blank immediately and you can not use in call functions. At least you should try it now and answer and promise to solve it.

I use version 0914 and don't have any problems with calling, I can use in call functions like the numbers, also haven't had any complains about the call quality yet, so I haven't got any microphone problems. The only problem I have at this moment is the poor WiFi connection, some time it loses connection to both bands (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz), mostly when the phone is locked and you unlock it.

With the factory setting my z2 pro had the security problem with pin and pattern but it was operational in all respects even before the 20180920 update.  I was able to use the password, fingerprint and face recognition even before the first wifi update.

With the 20180920 wifi update I no longer have the security restrictions.  What I have found in the camera is it can't do close-up shots unless it is about 70 to 80mm from the object whereas my older s2 pro can get in within 50mm distance.  I suspect the focal length of the new lens may have something to do with it but I have no complaint on the camera as my z2 pro without a shallow of doubt can produce brighter and sharper images than my S2 Pro from have the extra camera and at the higher pixels.  

Not a camera guy myself but when I tried the Bokeh effect.  It does the job except since I can't do a small object close the Bokeh effect ends up with a relative large focused area while the rest is blurred.  I suppose one can say its Bokeh effect is not real enough but doing it with a twin cameras may be a bad idea. I know for a fact that a big-name phone costs an arm and a leg mostly to do with better attention to the camera and I would buy it if the photography is what matter to me most.

On the wifi front my z2 pro can drop off the connection if I leave the house and can take a relatively longer time to reconnect, sometimes only to the 2.4Ghz band.  I normally can get back the 5Ghz after a reboot.

My judgement of z2 pro's features and abilities is relative to the 9-month ownership of my s2 pro.  I just didn't find z2 pro as bad as claimed by some purchasers to the point that I have ordered another z2 pro to replace the wife's s2 pro which has been the best of the 10 Chinese phones we had between us so far.

I couldn't get my wife face to unlock my z2 pro so I don't think your case is typical.

Yes after going through all the settings several time I found out a second face unlock in the phone settings.
Settings - Security & Location - Smartlock - Trusted Face.
When trusted face is active with Face Unlock I find that anyone that picks up the phone can unlock it.
After I disabled both Trusted face and Face unlock, deleted profiles on both and set up face unlock again, without activating the smartlock trust face, bingo it works perfectly.

My guess is that there must be a programing error somewhere that when both active causes an error that unlocks the phone.

I also have the proximity problem now after the update the proximity sensor has stopped working correctly, have tested it with several diagnosis apps and they all say it's working, but that the status for the sensor is (near).
In other phones i've tried this status is only achieved when you put a finger directly on top of the sensor, thus every time you answer a call or voice message the screen goes blank rendering it inoperable.
Anyone know a way to disable this feature until a fix comes out???

As I have exactly the same problem I wonder that we (in this forum) have different HW versions. As someone with the same FW hasn't got this problem some of us have.

Forgive me if I do not understand your proximity sensor problem.

When I test my z2 pro, s2 pro and the wife tests her s2 pro the phone screen will be off when we place it near to the ear during the call.  If we move the phone away to in front of the face then the screen would light up but switches off if we move it back to the ear.  I take it this is normal.

Is your problem with the phone screen never switch on during the entire call? in normal phone call and in WhatsApp?  And the only way to get the screen back is to terminate the call?  And yet the proximity sensor has been confirmed functional by Apps ( usually moving the hand above the camera region to cause the color change in the screen while no color change means proximity sensor inactive).
