Well, what I can offer you is to send me your phone and I'll bring to light the reason of your issue. On my test devices I cannot find the reason of a non-existing issue.
I really appreciate your willingness, but don't tell me that our is an isolated case because many others had or currently have the same problem, with other firmwares too.
For now I'm trying to enjoy my Super with Android 7 and root permission. If the bug persists I'll downgrade to 20160923. Sorry if I seem angry but "non-existing issue"... Come on...

The most logyc explanation for that bad behavior with fingerprint sensor is a software issue because before updating it worked 100%. In addition in version 20161017 the changelog said "Improved fingerprint sensor" so something that was changed in that version contains the problem.
i can now also confirm that the battery is draining way too fast.
basically i made my choice and will go back to android 6 tomorrow. except someone from umi can promise us another rom upgrade for next week then i would be willing to wait.
The China located UMi staff is still on holiday (so I cannot ask them now) but you can expect the UMIDIGI logo on UMIDIGI models only.
