It doesn't matter. With SPFT, you can merrily jump from any version to any other version, as the whole software package is overwritten.

Actually, after installing a new update my UMI SUPER in standby mode will withstand 5 days, watching HD movies will withstand 5 hours and that is fine. Unfortunately the battery charge time from 0% to 100% takes 4 hours and this is definitely a long time. On the android 6 battery charged for 1.5 hours. Well if UMIDIGI solved this problem.
I think UMi is aware about that, yes... Obviously it's not all that trivial to solve - Even Makaveli said he couldn't/has a hard time to find a solution to the quick charge debacle in his endeavour to cook up a custom ROM.

I had a piece of software like that on my PC once, I think it was living in ram on boot up and rew ...
My Gps worked just as good as my girlfrieds gps on her galaxy 7 until i installed twrp and ended up having to flash my whole phone with one of the roms posted here on umidigi. Now i have the same crap gps everyone else has. I installed the same rom that was supposedly on my phone to begin with but obviously it wasn't the same as what came from the factory. That kind of crap shouldn't go on so i agree with you in that way.

By the way there is a gps fix on xda i came across that you go into engineering mode and clear all the sattelite data and then stand in a place with good gps signal and scan for new sattelites .... Its kinda complex but not too complicated as long as you can read the tutorial while standing out in the yard or what ever while you are actually doing it. This one actually fixed my GPS. I filtered through alot of bad tutorials before i found it if i can find the link i will post it. But just look for the tutorial that doesn't have you download any apps and is completely done from engineering mode. The roms that they post on umidigi are not the ones that are released on phones from the factory. My gps worked fine until i flashed my phone with a rom from umidigis archive. It was the same version that was on my phone at least by the version numbers but it was not the same at compared to what came on my phone from the factory. Oh yeah and if you try it make sure that you are in a place where you can pick up like 15 sattelites not the recommended 7 or 8. 7 or 8 made it useable but 16 really honed it in and made it work like it should.

there is a link at the beginning for the original post if you need to see it written a little different to understand the whole process but i think this link i posted here will be easier for you too understand.
None of the other tutorials where they tell you to download this and download that worked for me. But this one did fix my GPS. It's for an elephone p9000 i think but i'm using and UMI Super. I hope this will help.
I just upgraded to Anrdoid 7, but can't get this update ( V7.01_20170413 ) OTA... how do I get it?
Since I upgraded to version 7 I get a problem where my music player drops the audio for a second when it looses mobile reception. I am playing mp3's from local SD card using Pulsar media player. Hoping V7.01_20170413 fixes the audio drop out bug.
