1. Go into your phones "EngineerMode" (most Mediatek devices have this) by typing *#*#3646633#*#* into the dialer (it can also be accessed through MTK apps from playstore).
2. Go to the "Location"-tab and select "Location Based Service".
3. Go to the "AGPS"-tab and turn off AGPS by deselecting "A-GPS On/Off".

4. Go to the "GPS"-tab and make sure GPS is off, then clear all presets in your GPS chip by seperately choosing the "GPS MODES" Full, VzW Cold, delete EPH, delete Time. After each selection press the "DELETE" button. (maybe deleting the "Full" one os enough, not sure)

5. Now go into an open space that should give the best possible GPS reception. Turn on GPS (AGPS stays off!), then swipe over to the "VIEW"-tab and wait for your phone to find sattelites. It will take a little longer because it has to start from scratch, (but I don't think it will be more than 3 minutes) Might actually take up to 30 minutes! Use Google Maps as a reference. Position needs to be rock solid and on the spot! (Wait for it to have a really good position though - like at least 8 green sattelites.) Once you're confident with the result -->

6. Go back to the "GPS"-tab, turn off GPS, then click on "REF POSITION" and choose "APPLY LAST LOCATION".

7. Go to the "AGPS"- tab and re-enable "A-GPS On/Off".
8. Go to the "GPS"-tab and enable GPS (it will now download AGPS data).
9. Enjoy fast location fixes and a stable GPS signal!

An occasional 3 ft accuracy of random sample isn't available 95% of the time!.

Devoted civilian Sat Nav equipment like Tom Tom generally claim 10 to 30m accuracy.

Anybody can copy and paste off the Internet written accuracy levels,  makes no difference to the actual fact the GPS is not working properly on my device.   The photo I posted shows 3ft accuracy on the other unit I own letv lecco 2 Pro and keeps that way . ,  are you telling me that 20feet is acceptable on the  Umi  Super with no location lock and movement within a 40feet radius while moving is correct?!  Pffft.

the problem is not the accuracy levels when you look at the satellites only, this is ok on my phone; the problem is when you use an app as Waze or Google map or ....., the position jump from one street to another ... and you can not use it!

I asked a friend working at Samsung authorized service
On the question whether the GPS antenna should be connected to two wires, he strongly denied. All models of Samsung have one wire. He pointed to the need whereas good matching of the antenna due to the frequency on which it is running. But I think that perhaps this is not screwed up our producer. I am inclined to the view that the problem lies, however, in the drivers. GPS useless mainly in car navigation. High speed completely prevents the use of navigation.

I confirm a stock UMI Super, assuming no defect from the assembly, will be as good as a consumer grade Sat Nav.  This claim is based on having used UMI Super side by side with a Tom Tom over a 800 miles round trip journey in UK.

I also confirm that I have installed the App "GPS test" which updated my GPS files (instead of using that provided by the factory as my phone is in Europe).  The Sat Nav App is Sygic which is a paid version.

There are many causes that can lead to poor performance of the GPS system.  It is possible some free Sat Nav versions may not be fully updated and compatible with Android 6.  The factory version of the gps files definitely need to match the correct zone.  UMI Super does have a evidence of bad assembly in the early batch of the product release.

Finally a 3 ft accuracy GPS system may be tough target from a US$200 phone.

I used GPS system when it first came out and cost about 7 UMI Super.  Now I also run a Vernee Apollo Lite that has a better GPS performance than UMI Super but otherwise same spec as UMI Super.   I do substantiate my UMI Super, a stock phone delivered 27 July, has performed everything impeccably including its gps functionality.

Of course this doesn't improve the GPS at all. Looks like just another case of a placebo "solution."

I tried this placebo solution too and doesn't work.
I didn't open the cell phone for aluminium or bend GPS solution...
I was waiting for a solution from UMI devs, but it's hard any answer by UMI.

I don't have to explain.  The photo posted shows the accuracy on an Mtk chipset deca core so it's newer with 3ft accuracy.
My oneplus One with a snapdragon 810 chipset also has the same accuracy  and that's older.

The UMI Super does not come near with GPS accuracy -  nothing to do with age or manufacturer. -  great if your phone is working but the major of the forum users have GPS accuracy issues and that's self evident.

GPS will roam randomly then set on a location then roam randomly again,  this is the issue people are having.  If your phone is working then there is no need to try and prove your point, it's not relevant.
