The proximity problem arrived with the new OTA update

now I really hate that one problem solved then comes the next with the fix. Do you Umi guys read this? I can not even sell the phone in it's state now

You seem to suggest the proximity sensor stops to function with the current new update. Does this mean by a factory reset to can get it back but you then lose the security fix?

I would collect the evidence of the malfunction of the proximity sensor and send the phone back.

Hello everyone,
After the update to UMIDIGI_Z2_PRO_V1.0_20180823_20180920-1114, I did a factory reset of the phone, just to do a clean start,
unlock pattern and pin work
Fingerprint security works perfectly
Face Unlock (Android 8.1, Settings, Face Unlock), does not work well. I can set up face Unlock, I myself can unlock the phone with face Unlock, the big problem here, is that anyone that picks up the phone can also unlock the phone as it recognises them as valid users.
I asked a coworker to set them up as the face Unlock profile after deleting mine and to my surprise I picked up the phone and the screen lit up and unlocked the phone.
This is a huge security problem, and renders this phone useless for my work.
WiFi 5Ghz works perfect and is stable
WiFi 2.4Ghz connects but is very unstable and loses connection after a few seconds, there is no way of working on 2.4Ghz
VoWifi does not work, and I have checked that it's activated in settings

Is there any 3rd party app that fixes the proximity problem temporally?

The security problem fixed, only there is a blank screen during call and it does not come alive after removing it from the ear during calls e.g. for using the keypad

my proximity sensor doesnt work
the pattern lock doesnt work and i cant start android
i am trying recovery mode but i don understand chinese characters

If you get a Chinese menu you press the wrong button. Chinese menu is activated by power + vol down. English menu by power +vol up.

I couldn't get my wife face to unlock my z2 pro so I don't think your case is typical.

Have you got other features like trusted place, devices switched on making your phone to unlock itself?

I did not find Z2 pro or the previous s2 pro face recognition reliable. The feature does not always work and about 1/3 of the time I need to resort to other means to unlock the phone.

However with z2 pro the fingerprint is definitely more reliable as I haven't yet had it failed to unlock with the fingerprint. Like every new feature it would be foolish to assume it would be trouble free and perfect as soon as it comes out. However I would be alarmed if z2 pro cannot recognise its owner but allows all every strange to unlock with the face recognition.

Hi all,

Has anyone of you got complaints from the other calling party, that your speach becomes almost impossible the hear and undestand? I experienced this almost always when talking to someone who has this phone with the latest upgrade.

This is very annoying. After all, a phone is for making calls.

The microphone doesn´t work during calls. Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks in advance
