Recover dead fingerprint scanner Android 8.1 [CLOSED]

Hi,

I have a Umi Z2 Pro and when trying to generate the request file I get the a "failed" state with the error "Read req error".  

The log file in c:\microtrust_metalog lists the following:

microtrust_log: dll version is v1.3.0, read_file_from_phone_to_buffer() line number:748
microtrust_log: dll version is v1.3.0, read_file_from_phone() line number:1108 read phone file to buffer failed; return value=-1

okay - so i feel pretty dumb. i did the format data option stupidly by accident going to V1.4... i did manage to get my IEMI's back, they zero'd out after the V1.4 flash.. so, after looking into the device a little more i lost the fingerprint option all together; and my serial number as well. i'm currently waiting for my .req file to be sent back to try the fingerprint revival - but is there a way to re-enter my serial number? right now, my S/N is displaying '0123456789ABCDEF'..... i did not have the original S/N written down, and oddly enough i did not get any info on the S/N from the paperwork in the box; or the stickers with the IMEI's. am i screwed now?.. i did have success obtaining the .req file, and altering the 0's that were written after the V1.4 write. i'm assuming i may be able to obtain the S/N by Umidigi support? i'm not too sure what to do at this point - i can use the device with my SIM though, so that's good at least. . . thanks for any response!

I have an Umidigi Z2 Special Edition that has lost fingerprint functionality. I have only used download and upgrade modes. Never used format mode. I do not think it is just that I would have to pay to restore fingerprint functionality. Is there someone I can speak to about this?

how long does it take for it to enter meta mode
