I have been looking at the specs of the individual pictures i have taken today, and it seem like the phone is not happy about upping the ISO.

Only one picture is around ISO 1000, but many is much lower where i using my old SLR cameras would have used a ISO 4 - 800 film to make sure i was able to use a exposure over 1/250 second thats really the slowest you want to use on a handheld camera.

So the phone use a really low ISP and so force itself to use 1/30 or so exposure timing, far too slow for handheld and far too slow for footage with any movement faster than a snail.

I think the camera just need a overhaul, and maybe noise cancellation could work better too

Sorry but it's not the camera to capture moving objects in low-light conditions. You can manually increase the ISO speed in Pro mode to get faster exposure. Most of the pics I shared here was captured with 1/100 second exposure. Personally I prefer to get less noise reduction since noisy photos can be de-noised according to your needs by post processing but the lost details of a de-noised photo cannot be retrieved. The camera software will be improved in fuure updates.

I know this is a common issue with dashcams that will drop to 1:30 second exposure to provide bright footage at night, and that in turn leave a lot of motion blue for people to deal with.
I myself have no issues with dashcam or other performance in low light, i know its not a issue unless off course you introduce movement in the footage or of the camera.

I will also agree on post processing, but i have never done that to either photos or video as i dont belive in it ( im coming from way back winding raw B&W film on empty cartridges and developing then myself after i taken the photos ( about 3-4 X 36 photos every week for years ), and later on color film though the film by then was stock Kodak film )
Okay you can make adjustments in the dark chamber alright, but again i dident really bother with it.

I am pretty happy with the camera as i will only be using it for 3-4 photos every year, and i am also sure UMI can make it preform better.

I was just surprised my pictures taken in the large green house wasent better after all there was plenty of light, next time i go i will give the pro mode a spin for sure.

Video from the same place and location, using the SJ7 star action camera.

Burning fluids hit with .22 pellet

If i am to take pictures i break out a cheap Nikon Dslr, and if i am a stick a 75 MM Hasselblad camera.

Well, I think it's possible to shoot a such photo like the second one with a UMi Z if you can mount a 300mm zoom lense.

The boat was actually pretty close, i was standing in the water wearing waders if i recall right, i have to carry the boat into the water as my friend have bad shoulders and can not lift a boat that heavy.

And the double back to shore get camera and then back in the water

Most annoying is when you have to go swimming to retrieve the crashed boat, not least in my age and with my abused lounges.

He have a faster electric boat, it should be able to do 150 km/h with the right propeller and battery combination, but it only clocked 128 km/h on the last run before it crashed due to a blown up brushless motor.

When you stab the throttle the boat jump out of the water and land 1- 2 M from where it took off.

Look at the top left and right corners. They are really blurry and also on my phone. So the camera is not the best, since it needs sometimes 5 second to open up the camera and allways more than 2 seconds to capture. Very slow. UMI do something please !!!

Corners on my phone are blurry as well.  Post time 2017-3-2 15:32

"The UMI Z App make a little bit too much color in the photo ...

Upon closer inspection, looking them at FHD pc screen shots taken by Samsung Galaxy A7 2016 are better comparing to those by UMI Z.They are more detailed and with a less grain in a low light.
Corners are blurry.
This is the reality with which we have to live with.
As far as I know Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 shares the same Samsung lenses as our UMI Z.
You can see one of the comments about camera ability here.
