The obvious is that if you turn up the exposure then you will have more light going through the lens .
If you are in well lit conditions having the exposure value to 3 will make the screen go white.
It seems the first photo you took was in a dark room and the camera has taken a photo that resembles the same light levels as your eye's . - So turning up the exposure will make the image lighter.

@beatertech..... You were right, during the day pictures are to bright with exposure set to +3. Well at least we can take pictures in low light just change the expose to +3, and taking pictures during the day set it to 0. This is definitely a software problem, hopefully it will be fixed in the next update.

Camera fv-5 lite app is pretty good, it's a bit better than the stock camera. Change light metering mode to point, press on the preview for the camera to adjust the lighting levels
